Ericius Scout Car [M:Throne Empire Series Ep.15]

Post by Kaplan » Fri Feb 12, 2016 5:03 pm

This is a small update for my M-Throne Empire. Ericius scout cars are used as reconnaissance vehicles and are capable of off-road mobility. There are autoguns mounted on the back of the guns. The guns are controlled by the driver. The second soldier on the right seat works as gunner support. I wanted to make small cars that resemble the RRV-8Rat of 45th union. Here are some photos:

I built ten of these scout cars:

I'd personally add a black lightsaber hilt on the tip of the autocannons, but apart from that I really like that compact design.

those wheels seem to be quite rare in my experience, very few sets I ever owned had those types of hubcaps, I had forgotten they exist

This except with a black Technic pin. That way you won't add as much length to the weapon. The only other suggestion I have is to replace the red brick at the front with a grille. Otherwise this is a really nice, mass-produceable little vehicle.

I considered doing this, but didn't really try given that my guys wear airtanks and I would have to take them off to make fit, but I like what you did and I might borrow your design. Don't your minifigs wear airtanks too? If so, I'd maybe add a hook or something so that they can be carried around, along with weapons.

The passenger should be armed with a side machine gun or something. As for the air tanks, you could easily mod the back to hook them on.

First of all. Thank you very much guys for your constructive critics and nice comments. And here are my opinions about the issues:

I think lightsaber hilt would make the barrel too long.

Yes they are very old wheels. I bought them from bricklink.

Technic pin would be a better than the lightsaber hilt. The original design by RoC has a smilar barrel design without any adition. As I said earlier I like this plain style.

You are right about the grill piece and I will change that brick in the front

Yes my standard soldiers wear airtanks but I don't think that the airtanks are a must have for my forces. I would be nice to add some parts to be able to attach airtanks or maybe some other accessories.

The passenger has a lever piece as a controller in front of him. He supposed to give gunnery support.
