Yeah, this thing's clunkiness is really growing on me now too

OK, here's the spiel about Superpowers I always give the newbies when they ask me.

First things first - it doesn't matter. Being a superpower is a nice decorative badge or sticker that you get to call your faction in lore. It commands some respect and maybe lets your faction get away with some more shit in kanon, but otherwise provides no benefits. It's the last remaining holdover from a long-ago attempt to translate physical lego into lore/kanon effects.

The requirements that we agreed on a long time ago that are on the wiki were to meant to protect the meaningfulness of the word "Superpower". The main idea was to prevent egregiously bad cases like Brikguy's one-robot army from declaring themselves Superpowers. You can call yourself a great power or a huge empire or a major player or whatever else people come up with, but at least the word "Superpower" is sacred and has meaning backed by something real. If you have a big army that a reasonable member would consider impressive, we're not going to nitpick over 49 troops or a 99 stud long SHIP. It's more a vote by acclamation with fudge, in true brikwars style, and this is how it's been done anyway so far. So do keep the requirements in mind (as they exist for a reason), but don't get hung up over the details.

Also, in case you think being a superpower matters - Bavaria, with the TLA and some half-assed help from superpower Venice, fought off half a dozen superpowers and veto powers before it became a superpower itself.
