Banning one person for one day might be funny, banning a dozen is being an asshole.

I think it's being inclusive to ban more people.TheVengefulOne wrote:Banning one person for one day might be funny, banning a dozen is being an asshole.

It's like those old war movies where Gunnery Sgt Highway is a total dick to everyone so they all have an enemy to rally against in solidarity and then in act 2 he reveals that was his plan all along and that's how they become a team

It was kind of funny, but don't mess with our avatars!

I don't think there is enough banding!
How are we going to track goose and geese migration patterns if we don't band them!
We need more banding!

All of my bans are assigned to specific posts. My ban list is there for transparency and score-keeping purposes, it does not attempt to justify anything. The reasons provided are for reference only.PoeDomo_Alt wrote:I'm still relatively new, (RELATIVELY) but I don't think that banning someone for "Allied Nations. Should have done this a while ago" or "NOPE" is a good excuse to ban. I mean, I got banned for asking a shitpost thread to be moved to thunderdumb, that's not an offense, that's just plain decency. So we've lost a great new member because a shithead got drunk. That's a dick move.
And Colette definitely deserved a ban for the Allied Nations, I mean

Re: Has banning gone too far?
I think of this as a community building exercise. I got to like 7 bans and I was like, "You know, if I ban more of them, they might feel united through this as a shared experience." It's really really basic psychology. Even if that makes y'all pissed at me, whatever, IDGAF, in death I become even more powerful than in life.Silverdream wrote:My problem is that while banning is an annoyance for some people, for others it's a reason to just leave entirely. I know this place has been an anti-forum to reflect the nature of brikwars for a long time, but treating people like this is not a good thing if you guys are interested in building the community.

Kastrenzo, having talked to you in the chat, you seem like a pretty normal guy. Throughout my travels, I've noticed that I tend to piss off people like you pretty easily with my patently indefensible antics. When I banned you I was like, "Well, if he logs in and sees he's banned, he's going to get mad, but whatever, allahu ackbar, I'm fucking doing it anyway." I can no longer find the post I banned you for, it seems like someone may have deleted it, but from what I remember you deserved it.

your logic is flawed since i didnt care about anyone being banned and i still don't
if anything this has only made me make fun of the offended even more than normal

Re: Has banning gone too far?
I actually haven't been banned since my n00b days in 2013 when I was a raging butt hurt tween, I remember scythe banning me a lot back then. (sadly most of my rants and arguments with other users were lost in the overlution, and even before that actually- some of the best were on the sub-forum overwatch used to have but that got removed long ago)
