The construction of these mecha has been contracted out to the Iron Legion, for a hefty sum. The price, however, is well worth the quality.
The Ares' primary weapon is a 30mm railcannon, based on a scaled-up infantry rifle. The 100-round magazine is easily enough for most battles, and should this prove inadequate...
The micro-missile box will take care of any stragglers. 110 micro-missiles, ten each loaded into eleven tubes, are fired in salvos to dispatch enemy armor. Ares units have even seen use as impromptu anti-air defenses, eschewing the autocannon in favor of a second missile box.
These thrusters on the back provide additional forward movement speed, as well as limited aerial capacity; while it hardly flies, the thrusters allow the Ares to jump, as well as glide up to half of its maximum Move.
Bonus picture, these are some Iron Legionnaires. The Iron Legion are one of my brothers' factions. Think inverse Brotherhood of Steel; instead of hoarding tech they can't build, they make machines and sell them. They also contract their soldiers out as mercenaries to those who can afford their services; while supposedly "impartial," they do hold a grudge against the Exonian Republic for core-mining their home planet, and as such tend to keep a squad on reserve in case Xenon should request assistance against them.
Being a small, highly-trained force (this is all he has in physical figs), the Legionnaires have a base d8 Skill, powered Body Armor (+2 Armor w/o Move penalty... Still can't swim, but sealed helmets let them move underwater), and powerful Slug Rifles. The Aquilus Hardsuits have even higher Armor, a shoulder-mounted minigun, and a self-destruct sequence should they be killed.
