Seconding Kastrenzo on this. Between work, kids, wife and social life, there's just not enough left of me to get into Lego/BW. I enjoy browsing pictures of what the rest of you build, but I lack the time/energy to get my own projects done. Nowdays I have money, and a decent amount of space (small room but its mine).

This. Also I am currently separated from my collection minus figures and I lack organization in my collection.Kastrenzo wrote:time and energy.

Re: What holds you back? (Lego Wise)
It's the lack of money. Here in Russia, a decent-sized lego set usually falls somewhere in between 1500 and 3000 rubles. Most people can afford spending so much money only on holidays. Only dudes who live in Moscow can spend 3k rubles like it's nothing. Luckily, I'm gonna move to Moscow by the end of this summer.
Another thing holding me back is the feeling that all these pre-made sets look perfectly fine and if I try to build something on my own, this MOC just won't be as good.

Well shit dude that ain't funny.Duerer wrote:Crippling depression, really.
In my case I usually avoid new projects, even battles, until I can setup a story narrative that, at least in my head, isn't swiss cheese. I spent a long fuckin' time planning out how Brickingrad would play out way before I actually assembled it, along with the lore of the world and the troops involved.
Also, money.
My current goal involves moving the story ahead 25 years, 2 1/2 new enemy factions to fight the FSU, and the FSU itself coming under a triumvirate of the most powerful political parties.

really don't know to be honest, I've thought up some ideas in the past but nothing has ever come of it- if were to guess I would say its because I'm lazy and lacking in motivation.

Don't feel so bad dude. I fucked around with SW stormtroopers for 5 motherfucking years before fleshing out an idea I was comfortable with showing off, and even then only in a limited state.Brikguy0410 wrote:really don't know to be honest, I've thought up some ideas in the past but nothing has ever come of it- if were to guess I would say its because I'm lazy and lacking in motivation.

Partially just laziness, but lately I've been focusing my creative endeavors elsewhere. Doesn't help that I'm mentally exhausted after work these days and the days I'm off are few and far between.
