The Kingdom of Anglotaine has a long history, stretching back to the days when Emperor Eternius VII handed out the first knighthoods. The first King of Anglotaine was the legendary Henri, a chieftain amongst the warring Anglish and Frankish tribes that had long served as one of the most fertile recruiting grounds for the Imperial Gold Legion.

The Matilda II is named after one of Henri's descendents, a great warrior queen who guided the realm through the troubles of the Eternian Empire's fall and ensured the unity of the Anglish tribes and the Frankish tribes with the foundation of 12 great duchies and numerous smaller counties.

The Kingdom's glory days are long gone. The Dukes of Granbretan declared themselves independent kings rival to the ruling house of Carolia, sparking the 200 years war which only ended in the accession of the new king Henri VII, who through the sheer chance of splintering bloodlines managed to combine the two claims to the throne.

Henri's position remains precarious and his realm's shared Shikinamist faith with the neighbouring German Confederation threatens to bring war against the warriors of Ayanami, even as rival dynastic factions plot the new king's downfall. Only one thing is for certain, the legendary strength and fortitude of the tank named for Anglotaine's ancient Queen will once more be tested on the battlefield.
