The Panzerkampfwagen III. A dedicated tank killer perfect for dueling light and medium tanks. It is an indigenous German design which, though outdated, continues to perform admirably against lighter designs or when pressed into the infantry support role.
The success of Panzer III's against Ayanami tanks in the First Reiconquest War can be credited with beginning the arms race that resulted in the obsolescence of many previously existing tanks from earlier eras. The exploits of the panzer ace and future Kaiserin Eva von Brickburg became particularly famous thanks to her infamous ambush tactics which claimed the lives of many unweary Ayanami tankers.
The Sturmgeschütz III was designed as a direct counter to the infantry strongpoints used to reinforce the numerous poorly trained peasant levies fielded by Ayanami forces. The Stug III trades its turret for a lower silhouette and a diminutive but powerful mortar for bunker-busting and shelling alike.
As with all Panzers, both the Stug III and its turreted cousin's real strength lies in its engine and tracks, which combined with rugged torsion bar suspension, allow for the implementation bewegungskrieg.(The strategy of rapid maneuver descended from that used by troops of the Eternian red legion recruited from the proto-Germanic tribes of old)
