Of Fire and Steel - Epilogue

Post by Joshua » Tue Mar 15, 2022 6:03 pm

Image
Huang Lu spies an opening and dashes past the halberdier and Von Bragallot.

Image
After running far enough, he turns around and yells:

Huang Lu: "Every man for himself! This battle is lost!"

Image
Upon hearing those words, the final Uruk-hai disengages from combat and makes his way towards the edge of the field.

Image
Same for these two Bull Knights.

Image
Seeing he's been forgotten about, the last Easterling decides to save his own skin.

Image
Not swayed by the hero's shout, the last few Undead fight to the death.

Image
They put up a good fight, but defeat is inevitable.

Minutes Later:

Image

Elite Knight: "It took the King's life for there to finally be peace."

Thomas: "Indeed. But his sacrifice was not in vain. Now the Undead's strength has been shattered, and they are leaderless."

Sir Marcus: "Yes, and it's up to us to keep it that way."

Image

Muradin: "Are ye alright there, lassie?"

Lillian: "Yes, I think I'll be fine, but my head's still spinning."

Image
'Grunts'

Image

Thror: "Ugh, my head."

Image

Sir Marcus: "Alright, let's get you up."

Sir Darius: "No! Stop! My legs are broken, I can't walk!"

Image

Lillian: "So much death..."

Muradin: "Aye, that's the price of war, lass."

Lillian: "Where's Sir John? I haven't seen him."

Muradin: "He's dead. I saw him struck down with me own two eyes."

The Survivors:

Good guys.

Bad guys.

The halberdiers and knights fought like badasses. I think they made the difference crashing through the backline, taking out the necros and tanking a lot of damage. Von B also had a good run, sustaining damage but not going down, and most of his feats worked out.

Of course, I doubt the peace will last. :omnom:

Like Shaggy, it wasn't me!

I consider it a compliment that you sacrificed a hero to try to take me out early... haha.

Haha! It is definitely a compliment. Couldn’t kill you for anything! I had a few ideas running around, but y’all started messing with my oliphant and emperor haha

Yeah, they were part of the key to the Black Knight's victory. Both are heavily armored and tough to kill, and the Heavy Cavalry's mobility really helped them out.
