Part One: The Festival

Post by MadMario » Fri Sep 15, 2023 5:05 pm

Image
Ooyama woke up in a strange place. The last he remembered was the sound of a distant train. Now he lay on a field surrounded by tents. Was this... a festival camping ground?

Image
Indeed. He was stranded on a festival. How to get out there? That was the thing he really wanted to know.

He wandered around a bit and the music got louder... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT0jOXi6A68

Image
As it got darker and the festival ground filled with people, Ooyama started to feel thirsty and hungry.
"Hm. I really know I need something to drink and eat soon!"

Image
Luckily, a festival is a place where getting a drink is not a very complicated thing.

Image
And also delicious food is never far away.

Image
And so, being full and squiffy, Ooyama talked to some festival-goers.

"Hmm, I know I don´t belong here. You can surely show me the way to the station! I really know that I need to get back to the train to Bangkok!"

"Yo, man. You need directions? Then you´ll need to see the Erzquell-Mage! He knows everything and everyone in and out of the festival grounds."

Image

"Uh oh, I don´t know who this Erzquell-Mage is and where to find him"

"That´s easy, man. You´ll find him on the camping ground when you wake up!"

"Alright, this is really helpful information. But what do you mean with 'when I wake...'"

Image
Before Ooyama can finish his sentence, everything around him becomes blurred out and silent...

Tossing and turning around in his sleep Ooyama dreamed of a man standing in the woods.. next to an ivory tower..? A giant beer can..?!
He wore a hat made out of duct tape and his staff seemed to be several beverage cans also put together with the same durable tape.

As Ooyama awoke the mysterious figure stood right before him.

Image

"Aaah, good. You are awake. I am the Erzquell-mage, wisest of the drunk. You are far from home, Ooyama. You might feel lost for now, but your path will unveil when the time is right. This might help discovering it."

Image
The Erzquell-mage hands him binoculars

"Even i can't see what lies before you, because my vision is clouded (You don't become Arcmage of the 5th Can without emptying some beers) but what i really know is:

It's dangerous to go alone! Take this, too!"

Image
The drunken wizard reaches for the top can of his staff and takes it off.

"And don't worry. I will replace it soon, *burps*

Image
The Erzquell-mage turns around and staggers away

Image
Ooyama examined the lime green can in his hands. He feld a strange energy radiating from it. With new found courage and confidence he gathered himself, ready to start his journey.

(Ooyama got a minifig-tool (binoculars) and a can with a mysterious liquid (supernatural d4)

With his newly acquired binoculars, Ooyama is able to spot a nearby map...

Image
"I really know the blue arrow marks the position where I am now! Now I just need to get to the station and from there into the train to Bangkok!"

Part Two: The Medieval Museum

Post by MadMario » Wed Sep 20, 2023 5:09 pm

Image
After travelling for several days, Ooyama reached a new place...

Image
...a half-timbered house. Actually the reproduction of a medieval village!

Image
As he wanders the street of the small village, he encounters two knight guards.

"Hmm, I really know you can tell me the way to the station. I have to get on the train to Bangkok!"

"What say ye, fellow wanderer? Thou truly seem lost."

"Yea, thou art wandering the wrong direction, if thou want to get into the far east."

Image
"Uh oh, then maybe you can help me finding directions?"

"Mmmh, perchance I hast a thing that might help thou navigate. My father built it and I never used it though. Meet me at the blacksmith outside the village when the clock strikes five."

Image
And so Ooyama strides the nearby forests in search of the blacksmith...

Image
...and using his binoculars once again while climbing a nearby plant, he can soon see the blacksmith where he shall meet the knight!

Image
"Come hither, good Sir, and let me assign thou this 'compass'. It shall guide yer way to the east, if thou hast learned to use it correctly. Godspeed and farewell on your journey."

(Ooyama got a minifig-tool (compass) )

Image
Ooyama has now travelled a distance of approx 233 km (145 mi)

Part Three: "Space Center Phoenix"

Post by MadMario » Tue Sep 24, 2024 4:06 pm

Image
While continuing his journey, all of a sudden Ooyama floats like he was in outer space!

...and hears this

Image
"Uh-oh. What is happening here? This is not the elevator to the fifht floor?!?"

He drifts around and flashing lights and loud sounds emerge around him.

"Help. I really know I want to stand on ground again!"

Image
And just moments later, his feet land on a solid metal structure. Ooyama is relieved, though the lights and sounds still roam through the place.

"I have revealed that this is the weirdest part of the adventure yet. I still need someone to give me directions to the train station."

Image
Just as Ooyama said this, the lights and sounds faint, and a figure emerges from the now shady structure.

"Fear not, fellow wanderer, for I can..."

"Uh oh, I´m afraid!"

*sigh* "What did I just say? You must not fear. No one has to be afraid in the vastness of space!"

Image
The lights of a rising sun brighten the scene, and Ooyama can now clearly see the friendly spaceman.

"Hmm, I know now I don´t have to be afraid. But can you give me directions to the station? I have to get on the train to Bangkok!"

"Directions? Look around - we´re in space! There´s no up or down here, just the vastness of an infinite universe. You don´t need directions. I can give you something waaay better than directions."

"Hmm. I wonder what could be better than knowing the way to the train to Bangkok?"

Image
"...of course it´s...TIME!"

Just as the friendly spaceman says these words, the lights flash up and an epical orchestral tune sets in.

"If you once experienced the vastness of space, getting aware of its size, the timespans and distances, then everything becomes dispensable. What little significance does a single train station have compared to this?"

Image
"Look at all these stars! All the possible destinations! It´s not important WHEN you get to the train. It´s not even important IF you ever get there. You don´t even know what awaits you in Bangkok. But you experience THIS journey right now!"

And as the last words fade as echoes in space, the spaceman is suddenly gone.

Image
"I understand! I really know I can have an epic journey that takes me to all kind of places. And then I can get the train to Bangkok whenever I want!"

(Ooyama got an hourglass to remind him that time is not a fixed and objective reality, but rather a subjective and minifig-made illusion.)

Ooyama has now travelled a distance of approx 254 km (158 mi)

Part Four: The Journey To The North Sea

Post by MadMario » Thu Jan 09, 2025 4:27 pm

Image
Time has passed, and Ooyama finds himself in a conference building, on the 5th floor.

"Hm, I really know that was a long journey, I need something to refresh now."

As soon as he says this, a voice from a nearby stand calls him...

Image
"Yo, lookin´ for refreshment, pal? I got all the good stuff. Even this new trendy stuff called CALPIS."

"Hmm, I think I have TIME for a good cup of calpis!"

"Deal!"

"Wait, what?"

Image
The booth owner takes Ooyamas hourglass and hands him a cup with a white liquid.

"There ya go. Another satisfied customer here at BoozeBears™ !"

"Oh, thanks, I guess. And by the way, do you know the way to the station? I still want to get to the train to Bangkok."

Image
"Yo, I dunno much of the city, just a travellin' merchant y'know? But there's been this Quentinsurfin' guy a few minits ago, he looks like he knows all da things. Went that way!"

"A Quantumsurfer? He will really know the way to the station! Thanks, mister Bear!"

"No prob, pal. See ya!"

Image
The sun is already setting at the 5th floor, and Ooyama hurries to catch up to the Quantumsurfer he heard about. He finally sees a figure in the distance and walks up to him.

Image
"I have revealed you are a Quantumsurfer! I really know you can tell me the way to the station, so I can get the train to Bangkok!"

QSMM: "Hello Ooyama. I´ve been expecting you. Well I don´t think the train is the right transportation mode for you anymore. From here on, all the trains go in the wrong directions for your needs."

"Hmm, But... how can I get to Bangkok without a train?"

Image
"Ooyama, look out of the window. You´re at the sea. You know what that means, right?"

"Hmm, trains will sink?"

Image
*sigh* "Well, you´re not wrong, but... What if you don´t need a train at all? Because you're on - let's say - a BOAT?"

"Uh, oh. Now I get it!"

Image
QSMM pulls a technical device out of his pocket, handing ot over to Ooyama.

"Here. This will be your new way of transportation now. Forget the train."

Image
"Hmm, I really know that is a too small boat for me?"

"Yes, it´s a rolled-up dinghy. As soon as you are at the shore, you can pull the lever to inflate it."

"Like, so?"

"No, wai..."

Image
*THWOMP!*
The boat instantly inflates to full size as Ooyama pulls the lever on it. QSMM is knocked over by the surprise attack.

Image
The Quantumsurfer is quickly back on his feet, though.

"Yeah, like so. Well, now you just have to get it to the sea. Good luck with that. And farewell."

"Thank you, Master Quantumsurfer. I really know this will bring me back to Bangkok!"

Image
And so, Ooyama starts hurling his boat down from the 5th floor to the shore of the North Sea.

Image
As he reaches the sea, he sighs.

"Uh, oh. How should I know the direction to Bangkok now? I hope the binoculars and compass will give me the right directions!"

Image
And so, Ooyama sails towards the sunset, cruising the North Sea, still hoping to find his way home.

Image
Ooyama has now travelled a distance of approx 524km (325.6mi)

Well, this is as far as I could let him travel. I´ve brought him to the sea. If anyone wants to continue the story of his journey, feel free to do so! Let´s bring Ooyama home together!
