When the superhero Nighthawk was arrested for a string of robberies committed under the cover of his heroic activities, Cassie Clay was just as angry and disillusioned as the rest of Rivervale's citizens. But unlike most of Rivervale's citizens, she was also a trained martial artist and self-taught mechanic, not to mention having downloaded all of ABSchan's threads on homemade weapons before the forum got shut down. Wearing a costume designed by her mother to use the most atypical superhero colors and be as dissimilar from Nighthawk's as possible, she takes to the streets to fill the void, make a difference, and hopefully become the hero the city needs. So far she's managed not to steal anything from civilians, and thus is probably way ahead.
Ryclops

Ryan Beck was a professional wrestler, better known by his stage name Beck Ryanson. For a time, he was popular with fans and was regularly featured as a top attraction in the Rivervale City Rumble promotion, but everything changed in the match where he was scheduled to win the RCR World Heavyweight Championship. He was supposed to chokeslam the opponent through a table, but missed and dropped the opponent on his head, forcing a medical stoppage. Beck was fired on the spot, and absconded with the championship belt. He turned to illegal experimental steroids that not only enhanced his already considerable strength, but gave him the ability to shoot lasers from his eyes, which is totally a thing that exists in physics. Wearing the championship belt and a visor that allows him fine control over his eye lasers (which is totally plausible, guys), he emerges to rampage around the city, in the hope that if he breaks or flips the right things, he will be re-hired and go on to the main event of Rivermania.
Syr Angus, Knight of the Wilderlands

Many have traditionally viewed Drakewood as an "empty" region of ancient trees, cunning bandits, and nowhere to get a decent beer. But its people are hardy and self-sufficient, and it has also been a place of opportunity for knights who were not so well-suited to Aslantaine's courtly hierarchy or the Azure League's money-driven affairs. Angus is a well-known and popular figure in Drakewood and beyond, having built a reputation for beating down bandits, finding missing goats, and having an endless supply of ribald drinking songs. Rumor has it that he has also been organizing the freeholders into a militia and bringing together other knights of the wilderlands, remembering the depredations of the last Dark Lord™ over fourteen years ago. But this raises an interesting question: as Drakewood comes more and more to resemble a "real kingdom", will the Queen of Aslantaine and her knights view it as an ally . . . or as a rival?
