Jaffa
Inpu jumps down from his temple to join his Horus Guards in battle
The two probes move forward, opening fire on the demonic infantery.
The first one shoots at the Imps. But...
It's first cannon immediately jams. The other one can land some hits, but one Imp jumps out of the way and one takes cover behind another one. Finally an Imp gets hit and even takes a Crit.
But...
even with three dice, the Probe doesn't do enough damage to kill the Imp.
to add insult to injury (or lack thereof), the weapon jams immediately after that.
At least the other probe does better. it completely pulverises one of the demonic troopers and manages to down a second one.
It would have hit a third one, but by some miracle this trooper manages to jump far enough out of the way to hide behind the portal.
Next, the Death Tank moves up and fires its weapons at the demons.
It's main weapons effortlessly pierce through the armor of one of the Arachnotrons, while its turret targets the Marauder. It seems, however, that rapid fire guns aren't too reliable at the moment, so the marauder easily shrugs off the ridiculously low damage.
The jaffa Guards charge to the front. they want to help whittle down the demon minifigs. Inpu and one of his Horus Guards aren't close enough to help, but the three front Horus Guards are in range to shoot at the Imps.
This Imp finally runs out of luck. After somehow tanking the Probe, it gets killed by the Jaffa.
On the other side of the battlefield, the Jaffa Guards try to take out the remaining Troopers.
Now, were this XCom, this would probably miss and it would be the funniest thing ever.
Sadly (for the demons), this is not XCom. This. is. BRIKWARS!
the other Guards shoot at the Sniper, but he manages to dodge behind the Blood Pillar.
Inpu: "Hey, you oversized Goat! Who put that other guy in charge? He even needs a Mechsuit to even put up a fight. Are you really going to follow a leader that weak?"
Cyberdemon: "The fuck is that guy on about? Does he think I'm fucking stupid?"
[Feat Failed]
Enraged, the Cyberdemon runs toward Inpu. He doesn't make it very far so he decides that kicking the tank has to be enough to teach the jaffa Prime a lesson.
Maybe it would have been enough.
Had he not rolled double 1s for damage.
Demons
The Marauder takes control over the Imps and they run towards the pyramid.
The Cyberdemon, meanwhile, decides that if the tank doesn't want to get trampled to death, it will have to go another way.
"Happy new year!"
The explosion deals 2" of size damage to the tank and Vaporizes three of the nearby Jaffa Guards.
A fourth one is gunned down by the Sniper-Trooper.
The remaining Arachnotron tries to Dakka down the probe, but even with its very high weapon skill, it somehow manages to miss twice and then jam its Plasma cannon.
The other Probe is taking fire from the Imps, but only one of the eight fireballs makes it through the shields - and is promptly blocked by the probe's armor.
"Hello Birdies. Remember the intro?"
Marauder does Marauder things and fires his shotgun at the Horus Guards.
I think he hits.
Two get shredded in the blast, the third one survives thanks to his armor, his distance from the Marauder and the two dying Guards in front of him. Inpu and the final Guard luckily are far enough away to not get blasted.
Davoth, not being close enough to whack Inpu with his sword, instead decides to put a few more shots into the Death Tank. He actually manages to deal another inch of size damage to it, bringing the tank down to half health.
Secret Faction
"Mylord, the gate is activating!"
"Ah, that must be my reinforcements."
Doesn't look like it. for some reason, a computer console gets thrown through the portal.
And then...
Studland arrives! The interdimensional Highway has linked up with the Jaffa's Stargate and a group of Specialists make it through to explore and secure this new world.
Lucivyr: "Oh hey, I think I know that guy with the big sword"
Vinnie: "Friends of yours?"
Lucivyr: "Nah. Not really."
Vinnie: "Good to know. Alright, everyone, you know the drill. Find something to power the Highway and then let's get out of here!"
