Guess my sig!

Post by Elmagnifico » Wed Jan 28, 2009 3:16 am

Can anybody guess what the last three words of my sig mean?

(and, if there are any ancient romans out there reading this, can you suggest a better translation?)

Its supposed to be, "I came, I saw, I owned," but I couldn't find a latin dictionary that had that in it.

Any suggestions?

i know a bit about latin, and i would have to say that the thing you owned would need to be in the GENITIVE case which shows possession. and then put in past tense.

so, you wouldn't be able to use it the way you are (i.e., as a verb) without a bit of improvising and making-up of words.

"Veni" is the came part, "vidi" is the saw part, so because the last word is something different it is not that.
