Unfortunately, Megablox has a lot of single-purpose-pieces. For example if you're making a Warthog, chances are that it's a chassis with a front end piece, a back end piece, and a gun that can be removed. That's four pieces.

I really wasn't expecting three pages off of a news report I found randomly, however I probably should have, given the amount of hate for Mega bloks. While I am not exempt from the mass hordes of haters, I agree that there was no chance for this in Lego. I doubt that I'll purchase any of these unless their one-use pieces are excellent, which they might be. On second thought I know a guy who's younger brothers have no qualms about 'brik racism,' and are always buying Lego, so if I get the chance to, I might do a review of theirs, I believe that they are Halo fans. Secondly, to address the discussion of Halo itself, I personally enjoyed the first installment the most, followed by the third. Halo 2 was fine, but the single player was lacking, one might argue that Halo 3's was even more, however I find that the scoring system, four-player mode, and adjustable skulls make up for it. Despite all my love for Halo the First, I always wind up playing Halo 3 more due to the excellence in its multiplayer games, of which my favorite is Zombies.

Doubtful. If any legal action came in Bungie would just sue Brickarms for using designs similar to theirs. Which brick representation came first doesn't matter, Bungie made the designs before them both. However I doubt that this will be a problem, as I expect that Brickarms' weapons will be the victor in quality anyway. The only good I could see from this whole Mega Blok fiasco is that they would release weapons that aren't being made by Brickarms that can't have a reasonably good brick-built stand in built for them.

Uhm... Brickarms never had permission from Bungie to make their weapons. They had to change the names and make minor detail changes to not be sued. There is no way that they could sue Megabloks for making something that they have the license for.

Well, I for one don't understand the huge hatred of Megabloks. Sure...I admit, mine do break much more oftenly than Legoes and the parts don't always mice togethor just right. But Megabloks have Tanks...Gatlings..heck I've got a nice looking mech sporting a Lego Laser cannon from the old Lunar Legoes I had.
Can't relaly understand the hatred.
Remember, there are no such thing as Athiests in foxholes. There's also no such things as foxes in foxholes.

I don't necessarily hate them, I just find Legos to be better.

Legos have a greater variety of pieces because you have to make everything yourself and they don't have big pieces that are only one-use. Megabloks (is that how you spell it?) also don't stick together as well and don't look as nice.

If I want to build things I want to make them myself, not just plop down a hunk of plastic and say "Look what I bought".

Lego city sets seem to be going the way of the Megablok though. The sets are half-built now. Not good...

Precisely, they where the first to make them, and changed the names. so they could only sue if megabloks products looked enough alike to thier own, not just because it is a depiction of the same weapon. And because of the name change thing, brickarms doings where completely legal because they didn't just copy the product that bunjie made, they improved upon it by turning it into a lego-scale, minnifig holdable version, thus because they made an Improvement They can copy as much as they want as long as they do not use a word to describe it that bunjie has copywrited. (I payed way too much attention in economics class.)

You have no idea how any of this works.

Brickarms is as close as they can get to the actual Halo weapons without being sued. Megablox actually has the license to make EXACT replicas of the Halo weapons. It doesn't matter if Brickarms made the weapons available for minifigs first because the making of items to be used by miniature building toys has no limit as long as you don't use the actual name (Lego, Megablox, etc.). There is no possible way for Brickarms to sue Megablox for making weapons that they have a license for.

Glory be to the Bomb, and to the Holy Fallout. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end. May the Blessings of the Bomb Almighty, and the Fellowship of the Holy Fallout, descend upon us all. This day and forever more. Amen!

8 piece warthog and 2 piece mongooses? This is basically a way for people to make a cheap halo army, that's it, a lame halo army!
