Well for the types of legos needed for building a town. Standard lego sets are not the best. especially depending on your standard. IE... My lego town is based on the classic green baseplate, especially since the roads are built on the same scale. Unfortunately city sets, including police, fire, rescue, and others are not built to this standard any more. it used to be that the sets were built to this standard, and there used to be a higher class of selection including Hospitals airports post offices fruitstands garages space shuttle and others. instead now a days lego tends to favor the FACADE building type except in generally the creator houses but even then the creator houses are built mainly to display towards a side though they are a step in the right direction. The reasons there is so many starwars lego sets is that they tend to be solidly built creations as apposed to mostly hollow monstrosities were the only point of them being so is so thy can charge you more for less. Be cause of this solid building people then favor them over other sets. hence the large selection of starwars sets to other lines, especially related to thier frequencey and how fast they are updated.

Yeah im not a huge fan of the way the city sets are going, however they can always be built upon or at the very least be scavenged for parts.
Basically what Im looking for is a massive amount of standard bricks, with the occasional odd ball pieces. I know I can buy off bricklink but not having done so before seems a bit too time consuming to order multiple items from multiple vendors. I may just end up doing that, one building at a time
I really think the mythbusters screwed us all when they bought all those bricks for that giant ball, but who knows. I find ads on craigslist, and email them only to find out that by the time the seller responds they are gone. I also have a friend whose got a ton of them in his mom's attic, but shes too sentimental to let them go

Recently I won a few good bids on ebay (uk) for a wedge of useful black bricks and bases. Had a look at Bricklink - looks very impressive, but more useful for planned builds. It looks like Bricklink is probably better value most of the time, but you could luck out on ebay by finding a nice big lot of many bricks for a not unreasonable price - watch out for postage though.
Also some extremely good luck picking up Old Skool Blacktrons and a few other minifigs, kit and weaponry to shore up the size of my army.

CONGRATULATIONS - you just WON The Game FOREVER. Or you can carry on being a humourless nugget - your call.

I'm back (I can hear the choirs of angels already).
As far back as I can remember, the only reason I haven't bought my obscene amounts of Lego at Target was because there was a really kick-ass sale or exclusive at another store (Mostly Toys 'R' Us then).
At least in Vegas, Wal-Mart sucks selection-wise. Nothing new, ever.
PS: Sorry I've been gone so long; just moved away from my family and had to pack/unpack as well as the whole school thing. I am now in the UK rooming with my cousin for the next two to three years as I do my A-Levels at the local college.
PPS: Does that mean I'm now 'Almost Thirty'? lol

I buy my LEGO at Toys 'R' Us. There was an independent LEGO store further away, with higher prices and worse selection, and Wal-Mart has crappy or no LEGO anymore. Toys 'R' Us, however, is within biking distance. I biked there last Saturday and bought a Space Police set.
Often, literally, a pillow fight but may include similar situations like volleyball, particularly when wardrobe is skimpy and the action is bouncy.

It's really cool. The head isn't bumpy, as pictures make it appear, and the printing on top is top-notch. Tongue and teeth in the mouth are a really cool detail. The head fits on the neck snugly, and can fit over the cape, though the chin comes down in front of the body. I wouldn't advise wearing it with armour.

Oh yeah, the heads are great. I strongly reccommend the freeze-ray frenzy set, since the orange guy that comes with it is seriously awesome.
In fact, I'd say that out of the new guys, the four-armed alien is my least favorite, and he's admittedly really cool.
