Great story playing! I like that, you're roleplaying through a BrikSpace battle. Bonus points for the gamer in the group!

Also, check Reports from the Field. It's the first BrikSpace Battle Report!

As long as they can reach them... hehe.

As soon as I get orders from kidko/Bonn-o-tron, I can take the first turn, and more than likely take actual pictures this time.

Alright, I now have all orders in. Round 1 should be posted sometime between today and Thursday. I apologize for the overly long increments of time, please bare with me. Also, here is a comprehensive list of the ship names so far. All of your Intel sectors have provided these lists to you (sans the names of your own ships).

Ancients:
Frigate: Jackel
Cruiser 1 (Reaver side): Acid Rain
Cruiser 2 (??? side): Ra'ache
Destroyer: Custodiet

SSPE:
Frigate: Shamu
Cruiser 1(??? side): Sojourner
Cruiser 2 (Reaver side): Ongxart
Destroyer: Tirade

EDIT: [censored], I double posted again.

EDIT #2: Round 1 is (finally) complete! I'll get the pictures and assemble the post, hopefully within the next few hours.

In the aftermath of round 1...

"Stay on the Shamu, they said." Captain Edka'duhl muttered to himself. "We need the crew, they said. You'll be in no danger at all here, they-"

"Oh shut up you oversized lawn mower! God! You Eegarians are all alike, you whine and complain when things aren't going your way. It's a wonder we were able to buy this ship in the first place."

"Now listen here Poctum, you may be lieutenant general or whatever title those S-P-P whatever guys gave you, but this is still my ship, and I have a right to complain."

"Oh really? Well I have just as much a right to complain as you, but am I bawling over-"

Before Poctum could finish off his retort, a cadet, a blasted Eegarian cadet Poctum noted, pulled the two of them apart. "Shut up the both of you or else!"

"Or else what?" the two bickering officers demanded.

"Or else I will use your frigate as a missile shield." Came a sharp as glass.

Both humanoids instantly froze and slowly turned their heads to meet the holographic face of Captain Ingrom. The holographic face of a visibly annoyed Captain Ingrom. The holographic face of a visibly annoyed Captain Ingrom who looked ready to kick both of their asses from here to Mars.

Edka'duhl spoke first. "Captain, we were just uh, having a little..."

"Temper tantrum?" Ingrom supplied.

Poctum quickly tried to get in his two cents worth "Look Captain,, we are all just stressed and tired from our long journey and-"

"Long journey? You weren't even in space for 24 hours."

The Eegarian fumbled for an excuse, but Ingrom's stare silenced him and his human subordinate. Ingrom let the silence simmer for another moment, and then got down to buisness.

"So I take it you are ready to obey orders and take the fight to the Reavers?"

"Yes sir!" Edka'duhl and Poctum each responded with the traditional Eegarian and Human salute.

"Good, then I shall trust you will bring glory to both our people. For now just try to get in range of those fighters, I will contact you with more specific orders later. Ingrom out."

As he shut down the feed with the captain and lieutenant, Ingrom looked up from his control panel and turned to face smiling young cadet who had been standing at his side during the conversation.

"Sir, we have something."

"Something about the mystery ships?"

The cadet's smile grew even larger.

"Even better. We managed to isolate what channel the ships who attacked the Reavers are using."

"Which one?"

"As Admiral Kave predicted, it is an older code, one that hasn't been used since the colonization period."

"Interesting, would it be possible to communicate with them?"

"Absolutely sir, I've already punched up the code on the transmitter over there."

"Excellent, now just get us some info on those mystery ships and we'll be set."

"Yes sir, I'll get right on it."

With a nod Ingrom dismissed the cadet and turned back to the control panel once again, this time to compose an important message.

After several brainstorms, the Captain clicked on the transmittion.

"Greetings great warriors, I am Captain Ingrom of the SubSpacial Police Enforcement Destroyer Tirade. I wish to offer you a deal..."

Well, since Olothontor still hasn't taken the pictures for round 2 yet, it looks like its up to me to remind him with some filler...

All is quiet in SSPE Command Headquarters, not even the distant hum of a hologram or the snores of a cadet pierce the opaque silence of oh-two-hundred hours Galactic Standard Time. No, not a sound can be heard at this sacred hour.

Except for the harsh slam of a door.

Benny leaped up with a start from his bed at the unexpected intrusion. Before he could even utter an exclamation, Ecabob began.

"Benny its been two frakking weeks since we last heard from the Ongxart! What the hell happened to them?"

"Are you sure?" Benny groggily replied. "Didn't we just talk to them yesterday?"

"Yesterday? If by yesterday you yesterweek! While we've been twiddling our thumbs here they've been off fighting for their lives!"

"Calm down for God's sake! Why don't we just send off a message to them?"

"No, I've already try-"

But it was too late, Benny had already called up the holographic communicator and, after divulging the much simpler 142 diget passcode, called up Captain Sodreg of the Ongxart. After several long seconds worth of static, a low-resolution hologram popped into existance.

"Hello, this is Captain Sodreg of the Ongxart.

Benny smiled in triumph. "See, I told you Ecabob, all we need to do is ask Ca-

"I am afraid we are unable to take your message at the time, but if you leave your message after the tone, we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you wish to leave a message for the Admiral, press one. If you wish to leave a message for nameless Cadet #481, press two. If you wish to sell me something, hang up and shoot yourself."

As Benny began to give the command for one, Ecabob quickly gave the countercommand and shut of the communicator.

"Hey! I was going to leave a message!"

"Look Benny we aren't going to be able to get through to them. Either because they're lost, or because they're being jammed or because they're being destroyed, we can't contact any of our ships.

"Well what am I supposed to do about it?" bit back Benny.

"We need to get off our lazy asses and DO something about it! For all we know those mystery ships destroyed the entire task force and are on their way here right now. We need to come up with a plan, and fast."

Benny thought it over for a long series of heartbeats. Then, he did the only thing he could think to offer at 0200 GST.

"Alright then, we'll have a cadet send off a message to scramble all available fighters. We're mobilizing the fleet baby. That should do the trick."

Ecabob was aghast with shock.

"Are you serious? Do you have any idea how long that would take? We could be waiting months for-"

Benny shrugged it off with an out of character yet relevant break of the fourth wall.

"Hey its not like anything plot-important happened in the last few weeks, what are the chances that anything plot-important will happen this week?"

"Very well then." Ecabob sighed in defeat. "Go back to bed for now, but starting tomorrow morning we're on full alert."

With that, Ecabob stumbled out of Benny's chamber and went off to get some sleep of his own...

I know, I'm a horrible person. I have yet to retrieve camera permissions... and I try to do everything at once, which doesn't at all help.

Really need to stick with one forum battle at a time.

Anyway... great job, MasterEcabob. Halo3000, kidko, and I look forward to a Skype conversation.

Alright. I'm an effing dip, so I'm making myself an absolute to get my ass in gear. I promise all of you on the forums that the battle report WILL be up tomorrow, regardless fo whether or not I get access to the camera. There will either be pics, or there won't, but that effing battle report will be up.

You have my word as a host.

Time for some more story! (I wish I wasn't the only one doing this...)

Inside the cockit of his outdated yet still striking yellow fighter, Saul Prisom, aka: Contrail Leader, was in his element. This, this maelstrum of laser blasts, this overwhelming din of background wash, this deadly dance between alien and allied spacecraft, was what he lived for. He may not have done this sort of thing in years, but that didn't mean he wasn't still one of the best fighter pilots this side of the galactic plane.

Rolling out of the way of one, then two, then three sets of incoming laser blasts, Contrail Leader was pleased to see that none of his elite starfighter corps had taken a hit. Fools, do they really think they can hit us from that far away?.

As he spun around for his counterattack and watched the antique targeting computer line up a shot, a terrifying blast lit up the surroundings.

"Did you see that seven?"

"What, do you think I'm blind?"

"We all saw it two. But what was it?"

"Hell if I know."

"Reports are streaming in from all over, it sounds like it was one of ours..."

"Six, are you sure?"

"Confirm, according to Base those alien bastards hit Shamu."

"Damn them. Hull integrity?"

"It sounds like they're venting atmosphere, evac likely."

As the disembodied voices of his squadmates discussed the damage, Prisom heard another voice. One of those bomber rookies no doubt. I'll give him an earful for this-"

However, as the voice seperated from the beeps and whistles of his machine, Contrail Leader realized with a start that it was not one of his squadmates, nor was it one of the cocky bomber pilots who was contacting him: it was, he realized, Captain Gromwell.

"Contrail Leader do you read? This is Captain Gromwell. I repeat, this is Captain Gromwell, do you read? Do you re-"

With a groan the man managed out a "Yes sir"

"Ah, well then, I have important news for you strait fro-"

Prisom was barely even paying attention as the ancient targeting computer beeped out the distance to target margin.

"m Captain Ingrom. He has ordered you to join my unit and follow my commands."

That caught the man's attention.

"What?"

"Yes, he has ordered you to me, since he is busy dealing with the friendly aliens and everyone else is trying to evacute the Shamu. Anyway, I now order you and your fighters to stand down. You are to escort the bombers out and away."

Contrail Leader opened his mouth to protest when the Captain quickly added.

"And don't worry about the Reavers, we have something special planned for them..."

With a grimace, Contrail leader gave a "Yes sir" and quickly opened the channel to his squadmates."

"New orders Contrails, we are breaking off the attack. Repeat: We are breaking off the attack. Get out of there, and rondevuez at these coordinates.

"Trouble Leader?"

"No six, just command butting in where it shouldn't. I just hope they know what they're doing."

With that, the fighters and bombers broke off from the combat, vectoring off into the blackness of space...

Nice.

And I'm back, by the way. Picture Wars sucked my life away for a few days there.
