couldnt agree more i think it should be based more on what can be moved by one person around a gaming field, after all if you need yourself and ten of your buddies to move your ship its gonna be a lang game might as well get a fork lift. i think we should designate by rough stud volume. as it should be the most reliable indicator

heres my idea for size:

250-300 studs long and heavy weapons would be battle-ship
150-250 studs long would be destroyer.
about 100 studs long and 30 studs wide would be frigate,
10-14 studs wide would be sloop-of-war.
battle-ships can have a small hanger that can house a sloop or group of fighters.

carriers would be lightly armed with weapon size being limited to half its size rateing, and should be able to hold at least one or a group of swarmers (small fighters designed to fit in tiny spaces)
there size would be rated by
"small"(frigate sized-would be made up of about half hanger-bay)
"median" (destroyer sized)
"large" ("battle-ship" sized-althought battle-ships can start with a hanger they can only have one, a large carrier is specialised and should have a main hanger capable of holding a frigate of small carrier.)

any suggestions?
this could also work with micro-space.

No thanks, I doubt anyone would be willing to build a bunch of 100+ stud microspace ships.

no i meant the size ideas.
you would devide the lengh by 10, so 100 studs become 10!

though people build 100+ stud ships any way so why not?
it would have to be a special class, like planet class.

If you have a 100 stud long ship in a microspace battle, you should just win automatically, because all of the other ships would be too busy SHITTING THIER PANTS.

not if the other ships also had a 100 stud long ship!
(thought the captains of every other ship would still shit there pants so much the weight of it would make there pants fall down!)
i made a stick of plates 50 studs long for scaleing, and i would say that the scale could be played and ships that big wouldent be hard to make if you make them thin(but still thick anouther for huge turrets with barrels the size of frigates!)

Seem's a bit big for what most people have in assets,reallistically battleships should be about half that size and destoyers 100 studs (but thick and large) and frigates 80-60 studs. My battleship will be about 160cm so it will be about 200studs long

the advantage of it being minifigure scale is the ability to launch raiding partys and repairs robots would probelly be easyer to make rules for.
