The minifigs on board would carry grappling hooks and such. I need to add a harpoon cannon but I'm not sure how.
Oh, oh, oh! I has idea!
Alright, take one 'o them-thar spear guns...or better yet, about four of them. Cut off the spear part with the thick-ish part still attached. From there, I'm sure you can figure it out. Get some turning pieces and just work of mount them on the sides, or on top. Then you can have the ship fire off two or three to anchor a ship, since they'd be relatively small harpoons. We all know that more cables = better looking. One cable seems wimpy and impractical, but if you had a couple of the things, it would look pretty dang nifty.
Oh, and you'd need some of the reels of string that they have. Probably order them of Brik Link...I'd suggest the larger ones that come with the grappling hook on the end, like the ones that come with the Snow Speeder Star Wars set. You could even leave the grappling hook on, then just snip off the three end pieces and attach that to the spear assembly.
Harpoons are way more perdy than grappling hooks.

I have to admit, Firefly sounded pretty stupid too when they first started marketing it. A Western? In space? What?
But then of course it turned out to be phenomenal. So I wouldn't be surprised if Dollhouse was also great, despite the bizarre premise.
On the other hand, I stopped watching TV years ago, so I'll probably never find out.
You liked Firefly, too!?

It's my favorite sci-fi show in the history of forever. Funny, awesome, and in space! What could be better, eh?
