(don't get excited yet) Fantasy battle signup

Post by Bragallot » Wed Sep 16, 2009 10:44 am

So I'm thinking about starting to do some forum battles. Before I take my involvement in BrikWars any further I first want to know if anyone would be interested in doing some fantasy forum battles. I'll also be testing out my own battle system / rules. It'll naturally follow a bit of a storyline since I've always liked writing stuff like that up. Your every decision and succes or failure on the battlefield will influence the story and factions will always have special objectives. The factions are up for grabs at the start of each forum battle and it's always first come first served. I will expect orders after three days, otherwise a reserve player or myself takes over, and another turn should be up every week at least.

Depending on how fast I get how many people and some other factors the battle could be up after this weekend, the scenarios are written out, after all.

I will participate if you use baseplates and take good pictures. Don't forget Flower Mode.

I reckon this will be squad based? Also, about pictures: from his army posts, he seems to have some skill with taking pictures. I doubt they'll be blurry. However, his avatar is appalling.

actually many times if your cammera has a portrait option use that you wont have the blur usually accompanying flower mode, or build yourself a stack of legos with which to steady your camera

So many people, nice.

NatalyaAF: I used to buy lego sets so the baseplates kinda came with them, and I do use them. You see, I have cults and want my figs to be able to pose ;) I'm a bit of a perfectionist so the pics should be alright. The cults luckily don't invade my room that much, and if they do they only show interest in the bed (especially when I'm darn tired and want to go to sleep myself).

Magic Soap: Well, some units will be able to get advantages when fighting in squads, but if you can make clear what you want well enough you're free to move your units whatever way you want to of course. The avatar pic was taken with the camera in the wrong mode, I usually use my lamp to light stuff instead of a flash. Anyway it's fixed now :)

I would participate as well, but I reserve my right to bail if the pictures come out horrible :P

I'm sure they won't though, from what I've seen from you. I just can't stand bad picture taking in forum battles, it makes them highly confusing and not enjoyable.

Tripods are only a few quid. For example, I got my gorilla pod for the same price as your silly dollar times 11.
