Further developments of the Hodgepodge update!!!!!

Post by Strana » Sat Sep 12, 2009 2:05 pm

Well i've been experimenting with vehicle sizes for the hodgepodge, it turns out the strana van is presicely sized to fit in the fighter bays, as are the light attack tanks, furthermore the red mech can also fit in side once it curls up into a ball.

its a very close fit

new developements, namelyh everythings pretty much as color coordinated as its going to get externally some nice design work on the rear deck you don't get to see, but i modified the break points on the ship so its easier to take the levels apart, also you now get to see the internal structuring, although your still misiing the bottom level, in total the hodgepodge is a 5 story ship 3 of those levels are accesable by stairs and the last 2 by ladder.
heres internal shots though, just so you can see how crowded it is inthe flight bay.

I honestly think that, even if the other team destroyed that beast, the resulting explosion would destroy them anyway.

the only thing i wish was that i had more of the red mechs, its an actual set, but the nicw thing about it is that its also able to compress itself, i could fit three mechs in the bay space thats taken up by the one, and the light tank. the HodgePodge is turning slowly into a jack of all trades.

starfighters ground forces, huge internal volume, research labs, kitchen, weapons bay, primary and secondary reactor, primary shield generators and backup, heavy guns and missiles, overall weapon coverage. shuttle docking/landing platform, ie rear deck. the list grows

that really keeps up with the idea of a Hodgepodge though, doesn't it?
looks awesome. I can't wait to pit my battlecruiser against it.

Pretty cool I think. It's totally BrikWars-y, but IMO since you have so many parts you should scrap it and build a new capital ship with a unified colour scheme and more complicated design than just a blocky hull shape. It'd be good to try new skills as a builder. Go for realism!!

I think your using a lot of beamswords, are you using jeteyes on the ship? or are they for other people?

I agree completely. You've obviously got the supplies, and the dedication, to build grand things. Why not go through and remake your stuff to look, well... to look like it was built by a rational adult?

You've got so much cool stuff, but it consistently hurts my eyes, and my brain.

I find just putting slope bricks along a boxy section makes it much less boxy and more shipy. Just look at my ships. Good to see such a large inside. Mine are always to cramped.

To me, "Hodgepodge" brings to mind a huge, dizzying, beautiful plethora of different colors, shapes and sizes. If it were up to me, I would make it look totally slapped-together.
