This is just a preview of the SHIP I am building. I just recieved my pick a brick order last night & I was able to complete the base of the SHIP. But my weekend is packed so I won't be able to continue it until next week. If I can get the hull completed in a couple of weeks then I might have enough time to complete it by November.

Work on her is pretty slow, I'm hoping to get some more work done this weekend. I built a couple of engines for her, one of them is about the size of one of my APC's. Sorry for the rough pics, I used my camera phone.

*Update 11/10/09
The 45th Union's newest and most robust ship of the line. The first of the GR-6 Crusader Class ship, "Morningstars' Lament". This Assault Cruiser is designed to fulfill any role needed in space & planet side warfare.


At 114 studs she not much longer than other capital ship of the Union. But at 3 full decks tall she is by far the most spacious.

-Guns

-Engine room, the core can be jettison.

And armed with a Quad Plasma Array, 4 Heavy Plasma turrets & 6 Autocannon turrets. She is more than capable of dealing with any ship of her class & below.

One great achivement that this ship has over her predecessors, she has planetfall capability.

-Carries 4 landing thrusters

Capable of carrying Tanks, Fighters, & a contigent of men. The Morningstar's Lament can be independently sent for expeditionary missions.

And also new & unique to the space forces. The ship is capable of launching Drop Pods!!

-Carries 6 EDPods(Eject/Drop Pods)

-Each pod is capable of carrying 2 soldiers or 1 heavy trooper

Thanks everyone for the comments...

Oddly enough I already had most of those slopes, I did order more just in case, but most of it were for bley & dk bley 1x6 - 1x10 beams most of my bricks were 1x4 or less, which made for a more fragile frame. With the new pieces I'm able to hold it up with one hand so far.

No, it's not going to be a carrier, even though it has over twice the capacity that my previous cruiser has, it's role will class it to be an assault cruiser. She'll be armed with heavy cannons & planet fall capability.

Question:
Did you take a design cue from my scrapped Longinus III? Those vent things look a LOT like what it had going on.

Also is Pick-A-Brick good for getting bulk parts like that? I thought it was insanely expensive.

I saw the Longinus III a while back ago, I don't remember what the vents looked like. I was initially going to use the thinner taller slopes, giving it a solid look but I didn't have enough, so I switched it to a vent. I might have subconsciously copied it from there.

Yeah, pick-a-brick is not the best place for pieces. But I'm having issues with paypal at the moment, but my desire to have this completed overwhelmed me. I try not to think about the cost anymore after it arrives......

@Pvt Expendable

Yeah it will be the biggest thing I ever built, but actually it's not going to be much longer than my previous cruiser. I'm estimating the length to be around 120 studs. But she will be 4 decks tall, 3 of which are going to be spacious, and the 4th is the bridge. What you see right now is only about 100 studs long.

It looks like Space, to me.

But if it is for water, it has to float. That should be a rule or something.

Not that that's my eventual goal, if I ever sit down to build a "ship" or anything.
