Had I needed a bigger army, I might have had to field some Star Wars folks. It was either that or castle people, pirates, and red/bluecoats, which would have looked very out of place in a modern/space battle. The other armies in my battle had Star Wars and comic book people, though. We'll have to do better next time. Star Wars was one of the only licensed series I ever got into. So many rebel pilots, so many Luke heads . . .Peachs, not peaches, are the horrid minifigs that are used for all the licensed sets. They are a disease that must be eliminated. EDIT: Why are they called Peachs?

Because they have unnaturally racial colourings. Only the great Chinese figs are good. Go to www.bricklink.com if you want to bulk buy stuff.
Hi, all! I'm an avid lego builder and gamer (though not with legos until recently).
I do still live with my mother, but that should change in a year and a half or so.
I have a few other friends and players here in the St. Paul metro area of Minnesota.
I don't adore the Brikwars system, because it's somewhat static (I mean, a laser gun and a crossbow do the same damage) and it doesn't allow for a huge amount of strategy, so my friends and I have been working on a new lego wargame that we're calling Brickhammr. I thought this would be an excellent forum, since a Brikwars army would be easily ported to Brickhammr, and any nearby players would be a welcome addition. So basically, my quest is to spread the word about the new game we're working so hard on.
The rules are here: http://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0Bzhk3Ff ... MDI0&hl=en
But we're changing them all the time, doing a lot of number-crunching and playtesting (because as you can see if you look at the rules, it's quite a bit more number-intensive), and we're still writing certain sections of the rules, and the first part needs some editing badly because it was the first thing written and it has some old, thrown out ideas (like blessings, curses, etc.).
tl;dr: My name's Krantarin.

you know that you can change the rules and MAKE YOUR OWN stats for stuff? Its the same to keep it simple.Krantarin wrote: I don't adore the Brikwars system, because it's somewhat static (I mean, a laser gun and a crossbow do the same damage) and it doesn't allow for a huge amount of strategy, so my friends and I have been working on a new lego wargame that we're calling Brickhammr
Also whats this "strategy" you speak of?

OK, I've got those rules down.
I think I'll post my army in the Armory, even though it's not exactly a Brikwars army.
As for the other stuff, Lolwut, if you took the time to read over the rules we have so far, I think you might like what you see. It's quite different from Brikwars, but the underlying idea is the same. Playing a battle by those rules might also be an interesting change.

The fact the bows and guns do the same damage only matters if you're pitting soldiers from different eras against each other. If that does happen, and you don't want them to be equal, you could simply use the 2001 rules. Not to say that I criticize the creation of a new wargame. BrikWars can't be for everyone.

Oh how I would love to troll . . . but t's true - after being sat here relaying the stupidity of J+B and warhead across the room, or randomly shoving the laptop in her face and going "LOOK AT THIS OSSUM" she decided to get an account . . .
. . . soon I have no doubt there will be a "Widows of brikwars" forum . . . or at least that's what she keeps telling me! XD
