No it's not. Hardly anyone uses the word emo anymore. It's been a few years since I've heard anyone use it or talk about it. You hardly ever see any kids with the haircuts anymore, either.

Some info:

-Series 1 June release.
-Series 2 September-October release.
-Price: $NZ 3.99 / £1.99/ 6.95 PLN/ 2.50 - 3.00$
-Some Minifigs will be rarer than others.
-Second series will include vampire and Mexican musican with maracas.
-They will have normal Lego quality.

It's not stupid, its good marketing.
Haveing some rarer means it's harder to collect them all, soo you have to BUY more meaning they SELL more so they get more PROFIT.
