After eating a cookie baked by Colette, I vomited violently.
Upon closer inspection of the vomit I could see that it was ebullient.

Shit, I just looked up the definition and its still used correctly.

HITSUGI NO CHAIKA - THE COFFIN PRINCESS
Vami Review (Don't open the spoiler if you haven't finished the series)
Brought to you by:
-Overwatch (recommending this in the anime club thread)
-mgb519 ("Chaika," not "Chaiko")
Spoiler
Show
I enjoyed this anime, but in the grand scheme of things, I would probably give this one a 8/10. Action was fluid, characters were interesting, and the story was pretty good. Plot twists / points were a mixed bag in terms of predictability, however. There a few plot twists that I totally saw coming (like Layla turning out to be another Chaika), and some I didn't quite see coming (the first discovery that there were more than one Chaikas, or what happened to the girls (episode 11)).

Would definitely recommend for others to watch.

Well, Grisaia's now over. It was a stupid male power fantasy with tons of fanservice, but at the same time it was actually kind of good.

Well Silva you were right. Death Pool was pretty good. If it's just gonna be a show about people dying I'm down. It seems like a one shot short story thing so we'll see how they expand the story.

Having finished Shingeki no Bahumut, I maintain that it is anime of the season. Also, flying cthulhu castles:

I just watched Little With Academy, and I liked it but I was disappointed. The animation was great, characters were likeable, setting was good, but it just feels like a first episode. It needs at least 11 more episodes before it can really be judged.

Also, did anyone watch Inou Battle? I'm thinking of picking that up after I finish Pumpkin Scissors and Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom.

My only complaint about LWA is it doesn't play on repeat in my head 24/7 and it isn't 9000 episodes long.

Luckily the kickstarter for EP2 was a success IIRC, so they're working on more of it at least!

I think at this point they're officially ova 1 and 2 and if 2 is successful there's the chance to make an entire series. But these days a series is only 12eps so we won't get a 200ep behemoth like Akko's Secret of Lupin III pt2.

Just found Three new trailers for Aldnoah Zero season 2. There's also this one, which isn't subbed. Thoughts:

It looks like Asseylum lives and Slaine flip-flops again at some point and goes back to supporting her. No surprises there. Inaho is conspicuously absent, so either he's stayed dead or they're trying to make his survival into a big reveal.

At least they get into space, and the battles look cool.

... I got nothing else. The space stuff promises that this show will give us some eye candy but otherwise, meh.

The guy congratulates Slaine on his ranking up (he calls him Lord Slaine) and Slaine is like "nah whatever" then they talk about war against the earthlings. Then Princess Ass. calls Slaine an idiot and he says like "I'm returning to your service" basically.

I should probably give my valued opinion on Chaika. With no spoilers I can say it was a really well-done action show. It was cliche as hell but the characters were interesting and well written and I cared about them. Story is nothing special but it's done well so it doesn't matter. This is proof that you don't need edgy ideas to make an entertaining show.

Don't forget about season 2 if you enjoyed it.
