after J+B's post has been literally dwarfed by a post a few pages back,
I believe I have some actual new footage of some summer sets:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=416116

I think we already know about most of these, but at least we get some clearer pictures of the alien sets.

EDIT: Im not sure, but I think the earthish soldiers have new guns, could anyone double check?

if 20 chickens can fit in a brick, how many pingpongballs does a crocodile have to eat so it can swim faster than a washing machine?

I see no movies. You have misled me.

EDIT: Also looks like new rowboats in the Pirates sets, the spacemen have new guns, the aliens are brainsuckers (7051, 7065, 7066), and goats in the new Kingdoms sets.

Is it me or do the human alien invasion defenders look like those Halo dudes?

Pirates just became peach... A part of me died. Next we'll have a peach castle line and I'll refuse to buy their crap any longer. Well I haven't for years and why should they care about the opinion of a 19-year old anyway. I just scrapped the idea for a desert-faction based on the Prince Of Persia sets though, I'm not getting those stupid peaches, not whole figs anyway  Alien invasion seems very crappy to me, too. I totally hate those molded heads with exception of a few of the StarWars figs they did, and even then.

:wtc: Aliens jumping out of WotW-like machines (the original story, not the ripoff Steven Spielerei film, I thought was one of the most creepy things ever as a kid) to eat innocent villagers' brains? How could they suppose kids are gonna like this? They'll be freaked out! This line is going to fail harder than the HP line.

/ end rant

I like the whole b-movie homage aspect of it, albeit the headcrab is quite horrifying. Definitely interested in how the abduction mechanic will work on the classic saucer...

Also, is it me, or sets are indeed getting more and more devoid of classic bricks? Srsly, we have more rounded tubes and plates than actual lego bricks... y'know, the ones that had it all started.

Oh god, that's why they stopped the Pirates line, so they could bring in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yeah... Unfortunately, Zahru is right. They've taken to selling the "Builder's of Tomorrow" box on the premise that it's an entire box of simple briks. Does not bode well.

Well, duh.
They say the pirates line was more like a test to see if kids like piratey stuff nowadays, so that they could launch PoTC without being concerned that it'd flop. Don't cha love conspiracies?

I'm loving the giant UFO and the two Earth ships. That Maersk train looks really nice too, what's with the partnership between them and LEGO? The just re-released the Maersk cargo ship from '04, they had a truck set at some point, and now this. Is that the company they ship all their stuff with?

Also, does anyone have a picture of Maersk blue compared to medium blue?

Nay, promo stuff. They rehash these sets with different company logos, if I'm correct.

That last one has 4 editions according to Bricklink. '04, '05, '06, and '10.

Now they have yet another set coming out this year. I doubt this is just promo stuff, they even have a colour that's unique to all the sets.

I think it is still a promo, see, the set 1650 has it:
specially made for MAERSK LINE
but, MAERSK is a danish company, so might b possible that your hypothesis is the right one.

I just realized how awesome the a naval battle between the peach pirat ship and the yellow one would be.

Redcoats can be bought for a relatively good price on Bricklink, I think. Stick to the yellows, that way we also won't have to shoot you :)
