Thanks! It was actually yours that reminded me decals were a thing, but I knew I couldn't make them as well by hand as you had.TastySkippy123 wrote:Cool decals, I need to redo mine.

Thanks, I am glad you think so.mercury19 wrote:I knew I couldn't make them as well by hand as you had.
Speaking of Decals, here are the new and improved decals for the PLE soldiers!

They are hand made and require a lot of materials and to take up a good bit of your day, but they are fun!
I may aswell post some directions of how I maek them.
Gather paper(of your colour chose),scissors, pens and pencils, sticky tape, glue and make a minifig torso shape stencil.
Draw the torso shape on a piece of paper using homemade stencil.
Cut out a minifig torso shape decal.
Customize it to your liking with pens and pencils.
Get some tape and tape it over the decal, then cut off any overhanging bits. This makes them last a lot longer.
Then put glue on minifig torso, or back of decal and stick it on.
Leave to dry.
Then you are done! Thats how I make them, but I imagine it would be much easier with a printer especially when you have so many troops to make them for.
Tips or criticism is welcome!
p.s. The Sticky tape idea was made by the owner of ZMC, so all credit for that goes to him.

Oh and a ruler! This comes very handy for making those strait lines.

Refitted the Black Knight Mech with a better sword. Might also rework the whole thing.

Love those decals. They remind me of Saiyan armour.
Also, is that a sword, a chainsaw or a macuahuitl?

Thankyou
Yeah I can see the resemblance, but mine have more of modern look.
Thankyou

Re: Lego doodles POST THEM
Hey Skippy, how easy is it to take the glue off of a minifig? Taking off regular sticker paper decals is a pain, so I'm wondering if I might try your application method this time around

Re: Lego doodles POST THEM
When you use glue you can easily take the decals off, there will be a little glue left on the torso but you can easily rub it off. I use a glue stick, which you can find in any store. PVA glue would probably be a bit overkill.
The good thing about using glue is that they stick on well and you can take them off easy

Re: Lego doodles POST THEM
double-sided tape also works really well, with minimal clean-up.
