Queen Lara led the crusading army through the Falx portal, but she was betrayed when the Water Demons she left behind to guard her back tampered with the portal.
Outskirts of the Falx province of Estius...
"Oof!"
General Croses: "My head... Where... Where am I?"
Marshal Augusta: "We're... We're back in Estius! It seems seconds ago since I was in the captivity of those brutes. Those stupid barbarians must have messed up their use of the portal!"
General Croses: "... and unwittingly granted us our freedom!"
Augusta: "Indeed. They might be close though, so let's get a move on, back to the capital. I'd hate to see governor Varius lead the defense of this province."
Croses: "We're in luck. Our weapons and armour are right there."
Augusta: "They must have been transporting it in the same wagon they kept us in. Let's put it on and be on our way."
A few minutes later...
Augusta: "Wargs! The beasts' teeth are red with the blood of fresh prey. Maybe they caught some barbarians who got separated from the main army?"
Croses: "Let's hope so. Either way, I'm not planning on becoming their next snack!"
"NOT SO FAST!"
Queen Lara: "Okay I don't know who messed up our journey through the portal and got us all separated, but they're going to be in a world of pain after I deal with YOU!"
Queen Lara, accompanied by Princess Lorreaine and volunteers Medieval Fucking Santa, Squire Joul and Sir James the Black got separated from the main army as well as they passed through the portal.
Esti commander: "You shan't stand alone, commanders!"
Augusta: "An Esti scout party!"
Croses: "Looks like Varius got the natives on our side!" Quite a feat, when you consider what we've done to them.
On the other side of the field, more volunteers arrive. Rolys the Daring, Drakensy and his retainers, the Possessed Brethren, Punik the dwarf, Droe de Alar and Aloysius Black (riding a war machine) rush into battle, ready to prove their loyalty to the crusade.
Finally a small raiding party of Bull renegades led by a minotaur hero and Mumbles the Mad strolls onto the battlefield, eager for battle. These Bulls aren't like the ones who remain in the Kingdom: these are fanatics, Bulls who wished to stick to the old ways and fled the kingdom (see Freedom's Blood).
Mumbles: "Kingdom lackeys, they dare pursue us this far! Kill them and the Falx, men, this province belongs to the True Bulls!"
"Bull! Bull! Bull!"

Shared objective: Drive off the Falx and Bulls, recapture Croses and Augusta. (Reward if completed: all volunteers gain 2 SP and 10 gold)
All spots are open, none are reserved, so pick away. I don't expect many of the creators of the characters will be around to play, but if they do of course they'll be allowed to take control of their characters. Leftover characters will be controlled by allied players, so everyone might end up playing a couple of characters. People who played any of the Knights of the Realm in previous stages of the crusade can let the XP and gold they earned in those battles carry over to their new character. Remember to check if you already have gold or SP you wish to invest in skills that may help you during the battle because the longer you stay alive and the more you kill, the stronger your character will become!
