A Cameo Faction is a term used when an existing faction is made by another person other than it's original author.
They are typically smaller than the original, and may or may not take liberties with the designs of units, whether out of necessity due to lack of parts or simply a conscious decision.
They are often created with the intention of depicting battles between pre-existing factions, when real life meetups are not possible
