Space Viking Tankette

Post by OneEye589 » Thu Dec 09, 2010 8:02 pm

Although "tankette" sounds like a pansy and unmanly vehicle, the Space Viking variant is far from it.

Being led by a small group of Space Viking infantry:

It has an interior pilot (although not an actual minifig) who can control the small machine gun at the front as well as the two rocket launchers on either side of the top gunner.

Tell me what you think. I have enough pieces to make one more of these, however I'm contemplating making it an actual tank with a rotating turret and no gunner. Another one of these, or an actual tank?

I just moved the rockets to the very back of the tread covers. Looks a lot better now.

Awesome, but please learn how to embed pictures. It is not that hard and makes commenting on your creations that much easier.

Let me resize them, then I'll embed them. They're really big pictures and I have nothing on my computer to scale them down except Paint, which makes everything pixelated. I'm sure I can find something online.

And I built everything for the second except the turret area, so what's the decision? Mounted machine gun or a cannon?

That is an awesome design; I especially like the main gun. Maybe some kind of Viking decoration on the front would help it match the theme a bit more, but other than that this thing is perfect.

Thanks for the input guys.

dilanski: I have the same exact frame completely copied and only have to either fill it with a turret like this one or I can make some big, awkward cannon. I'm thinking of going with the cannon, as I'm not sure if I have the pieces to make the same gun again.

Zahru: I only have 5 or so horn hats and they don't really match well with the torsos I'm using. I also thought that mass amounts of figures was better than a few with horn hats.

Theblackdog: Trying to find some way to remedy this. I have the flag on both of the tanks which works well, but I'm planning on adding some swords to the front like teeth or something. Just have to find the best way of doing it.

Omg, very awesome Oneeye, love the snottyness of it, your skill is getting better & better every time you put something up. You know I'm a major proponent of build tanks en masse, but trust me, if you have the parts to build a tank and don’t, it might haunt you!
