I haven't got the required number of people together to try it out just yet. But I will tell you this story: after I opened it I spent the evening reading all the text and going through all the materials. Bedtime came around, and I'm still reading stuff, booty bothered catches me still peeking at the race summaries while pretending to sleep. "Did you bring that game to bed??" I admit that I did. "Well fine! But NO TOUCHING YOURSELF!!!"

She is dead set against Twilight Imperium because it's got that lion guy on the box cover. She's convinced that it's going to turn me into a razgrizzly somehow.

Well, if it's fun why don't do it?
And not all guys leave their armies unpainted, as me. And here we don't have over 50% of 40k players playing with spacemarines. And I don't even lay 40k(yet)
I can admit that my tomb kings army got the same unlucky fate you described, that's why I started high elves, to give me a last change of doing the thing to the end.
So even when eventually my tomb kings army got ruined, I still had fun. And i do not regret because that left <a href='http://tinyurl.com/y42zurt'>alot</a> of extra skeleton bits to but on the bases of my helfs!

So like any proper Manly Santa Day in my family, legos were amongst the gifts. This year, we ended up getting Brickarms weapons, mostly of the WW2 variety, which was nice. We also got 3 sets from a site called Brickmania. Their webpage doesn't seem to be working at the moment, but their Flickr has lots of awesome photos that made me drool. http://www.flickr.com/photos/brickmania/

I also ended up with some Star Wars stuff, for some reason, which means I now finally have peachs. I also got a bunch of the Toy Story army men. This green strand of the peach mutation will have to be stamped out by my yellow forces. My parents' over-elaborate diorama of Manly Santa Day houses and little porcelain elves was a natural place to set up my new legos.

The glorious Brickmania Panzer IV Ausf F2, supported by a peach-German with a grenade and a proper yellow Wehrmact soldier with a Brickarms MG42.


The driver of the Brickmania Wespe self-propelled howitzer has no qualms about using the elves for cover. Lesser toy forms are not his concern.


German infantry defend the Lego factory from the advancing green hordes.


The elves continue to sled, blissfully ignorant of the ensuing battle. A rocket can be seen being loaded into the bazooka.


Yellows lead the dull-witted greens forward.


A British gun crew loads a (mysteriously finned) shell into their 6-pounder anti-tank gun, in hope that they are in close enough range to penetrate the German tank's thick frontal armor. Santa is stating the the brave British soldiers are on his good list, but the cowardly peach-Soviets behind him are not. The elves continue to unload mail for their rotund overlord. The mail must come through, be there rain, snow, gunfire, or hail.


The gun is towed by the Brickmania Universal Carrier. A green medic watches over his jeeps, and wishes his vehicles were more accurately modeled.


Peach rebels, armed with their new not-bullhorn-shaped blasters. Their uniforms in one set are different from in another set. Lego lamed out.
