Yeah, you even got the faction that's the most fun to play (to me). Should also be one of the more challenging ones though.
I just sent the following in a PM to solvess since he asked me about it, since there's new players and stuff I thought everyone might be interested (especially those of you with mages in their ranks):
Base what you're asking for on the skill of your caster since spells can go horribly wrong sometimes and the less skill the caster has or the bigger the effect you're askign for the bigger the chance something can go wrong - just look at that Purple Mage that blew himself up in my last battle (both the hero as the mage did at some point - goes to show spells are a tricky business and there's never any guarantee).

Here's how casting spells works: I apply a difficulty to a spell depending on what you ask for. The result depends on the roll - if it's way higher or lower the effect will change for better or worse. Sincemagic heroes can also use their heroic feat they have to choose between using their heroic feat or their action for most spells (though they could do a combination of both too, as well as cast two separate spells).

You sound pretty optimistic for having 100-something Falx in your way, I'm seriously starting to believe something's the matter with them
