Heh heh, research purposes.

It was really strange about that auction. It was a must pick up auction because there was just soooooo much stuff and they put up a low starting reserve on the auction. I bid the reserve price and largely forgot about it, - and I won! Could you believe it nobody else placed a bid!
I like Mega Bloks Dragons series stuff because of all the neat terrain pieces that can be used for wargaming; - though just lately I've started sorting out the MB minifigs I've got into armies and sorting out their weapons and other stuff.

From what I've been able to understand from reading the interesting translation on the pamplet that came with the Russian Bionicle clones there is a good planet named Sayila and a Demon World full of depraved types. The inevitible happens and the bad guys attack the good guys & etc.....
I purchased one bad guy robot and one good guy robot, - and the good guy robot is a female! Yes really.

The yellow and purple bad guy is named something like 'Wind Sword' which makes me think something is lost in translation. As for the strikingly wonderful blue lady robot I don't know what her name is because everything in and on her box was written in cyrillic code. Anyway I like her a lot and my High Elves have claimed her as a magical Titan :D

Oh, some KO-nicles. I was always interested in those. How brittle are they?

Well I was inexpertly trying to assemble them for a while there and nothing broke. The plastic seems to be pretty reasonable and they give you extra assembly pins & etc in the parts packet. I'm happy enough with them to buy a couple more because the price is definitely right.

Loot from the LARP con: One of every die from d4 to d20, a Necronomicon-looking book, and a thimble.

those bionicles seem pretty legit, some of those pieces look like good moc material. also BTW blue bionicles are usually female,(although they don't always look like it) so it's not much of a shocker.

The reason I bought them was because I had a Steampunk MOC in mind and the yellow and purple one will most probably get used for this as it's feet and general articulation are better for carrying a boiler and steam gubbins as well as extra armour & etc. 'Aksinya', - I named her that because she's Russian, - will remain as she is coz I like her and she makes a good Titan for my High Elves to summon. Makes a change from a boring old dragon doesn't she? :D

I went back today and purchased another blue female like 'Aksinya'. This one's box and instructions were in English (sort of) and it seems that her official name is 'Sea Star'. Anyway I'm sticking with Aksinya for a name and I only purchased the second one so I could get some additional armour for her.
The price had dropped to $2.00 each for these clone Bionicles btw and I was sorely tempted to buy some more. I didn't though because I'd just managed to get a joblot bodybag of them cheap on Trademe and I don't really need that many anyway.

Is this a rhetorical question?
