Can it render anything else than 'generic gray' for background? Because it looks kinda bland.

There is a gallery/screenshot function, where you can change the background into even worse looking, floating backgrounds.

Naw, real legos will always look cooler in a forum battle. If I'm going to have some half-assed substitute, might as well just play a videogame.
