Minfigs?

Post by Nimja » Mon Feb 17, 2014 9:42 am

So, I'm making this faction, and I'm looking for where I can buy cheap minfigs. I've got the weapons found ant agood price. My question is , where can I find some cheap minifigs, and how much would you say is fair for a minifig, and what is daylight robbery?

This is a pretty redundant thread, given how there's another similar one already. Anyhow, bricklink is your best bet: depending on what type of minifigs you want, it's very likely that you grab the best deals there. Personally I tend not to go beyond 3$/2pounds per minifig if we're talking about common grunts, not rare figs.

I think that Warhead said about $2 was what he shoots for, so I've tried to keep that in mind when buying minifig parts. Keep in mind that it's sometimes also better to spend a little more money to on the parts to stay with one order than split it up into two to save money on shipping. You'd have to do the math before deciding.

^ What Zupponn said.

I built most of my armies by buying separate parts (heads, legs mostly) in bulk. Torsos are somewhat trickier to get. Buying complete minifigs is usually more expensive than putting them together from separately bought parts.

I also tend to go with Bricklink. It's the most cost efficient way to build an army because you only get what you need. It's generally cheaper to put you own figs together than to buy complete ones. I also tend to aim for around $2-$3 a fig. Look around different stores on Bricklink, as prices and inventory vary wildly. One store may have part of what you're looking for while another has everything else. I have ordered parts to make armies before and had to split the orders between several stores. Some stores are generally better in terms of inventory and prices, but what they have at any given time is partly chance. I once was looking to make a squad of guys who looked like this:

Most places only had 1-2 torsos for about $1.30 each. I found one store in Poland that had 60 of them for about $0.60 each. They also had a pretty good deal on the helmets and visors. The store didn't have any legs though. I found another store that did though and bought them there. My general advice for building an army on bricklink is to find parts you that like and can get a good deal on, and then go from there.
