RIP sand red. Gone before its time.

And I mean that literally. The basic bricks and slopes were only available in service packs. I think the only sets that actually had the colour were the Life on Mars sets.

I have some sand red battle droids.

But yeah, at least sand blue is going strong.

I could do with sand blue returning for my Prussian faction, I remember looking for sand blue arms once for my infantry and it wasn't easy. I got most from the viking line.

I really enjoy the Custom Crazy weapon heads, like these Bec de Corbin's; I also had a large excess of Brick Forge wizard swords which I have turned into polearms.

Tomorrow is my birthday. Today, my buddy Todd dragged me down to Hugedale (a.k.a. the Mall of America - we have Northdale, Rosedale, Southdale, Brookdale, etc, so I long ago decided that MOA was Hugedale), which was a LOT faster than me getting on the light rail to get down there, and while he went through the Simpsons figures, I spent my birthday money on these:




Apologies for the crappy pic on the second one. Basically, pick-a-brick had a ton of plant matter - palm leaves and those little three-leaf cylinders, so I grabbed a bunch of those and added some little purple plates and those cubes with all the mounting points to fill in the tub. All in all, a good day! I also got to the hobby shop to pick up a couple of model train magazines.

PaB is one of the best places to get plant matter and travesty bricks, really.

I have yet to find any travesty bricks in the PaB wall near me, and it saddens me. I've found some other great parts, but I can die happy when I get a cup full of travesty bricks.

I got my many from eBay purchases of all places. But I'll totally have to pop into a Lego store and check out their wall.

Got the Mirkwood Elf Army set twice, because the geniuses at Lego made it so that you need four of them to build the whole fort. No, that wasn't sarcasm, it's actually smart. At 35 euros I think this is one of the few (only?) Lotr / Hobbit sets (that I've found) that aren't too expensive.

Oh, THAT's what those things are called! You're going to be pissed then - the bottom inch of my brick bin was covered by plant bits, but was FULL of black versions of those. Probably one of the most useful bricks I have EVER seen.

I whole-heartedly agree. I wanna get a couple more of this set. Is there a better one for getting Worgs though?

IKR, that's so smart! Shame about the pricetag though, defeats the point of the exercise.
