... and nothing of value has been lost.

Seriously, the whole thing was a big mess and who knows how many overhauls the project must have received during its 7 years of devtime.

That said, I would love to see any material related to this thing if it gets released at all. It probably wouldn't happen though, for shame.

Relevant: Bungie blew more on the development of Destiny that some countries make in a year.

I would love to see how much money Blizzard just flushed down the toilet.

It seems every time Blizzard takes foreverly long to come out with something, it gets cancelled. Anyone else remember StarCraft Ghost? It's a shame too, since all their unreleased games always sound super awesome.

Oh don't worry, they're definitely working on HL 3. And Left 4 Dead 3, for that matter. At last year's DotA 2 International someone took a pic of a screen while touring Valve (a douche move, btw) that listed different programs they were working on. There were some programs for HL3 and L4D3 being worked on. You can find the pic if you dig for it, I'm just too lazy to do that right now haha.

Also, and this one is more just speculation than actual known fact, but the DotA 2 client had some lines of code that appear to be Astarte Eggs signally the coming of HL3. You can check out an article here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011- ... -in-dota-2
It's from 2011 so it's not really new news. I just thought I'd post it for anyone who's never seen it.
