The Citizen's Revolutionary Oil and Octane Defense Forces

Post by HyperFreak » Mon Nov 10, 2014 7:13 pm

I've been lurking for a while, and decided it was time to post one of my few armies. Gonna use this tomorrow actually. Without further ado, here's the stuff:
(I apologize for potential crap image quality, I don't gots a good camera. These were all taken with my phone).

The Citizen's Revolutionary Oil and Octane Defense Force (or C.R.O.O.D. Force)

First up, the Leader. His men know him to be a man of inscrutable mind and incurable insanity. His love for fire is only matched by his love of setting living things aflame with lovely fire.
Here's General Ash Torchem
Image
As you can see, he boasts a fair bit of firepower (pun intended). Unlike most generals, Torchem wades deep into the thick off battle, gleefully igniting friend, foe, flora, and fauna alike in a blaze of dangerously misguided rage. He isn't a tactical genius, or a master strategist. His men follow him because all members of the C.R.O.O.D. want to see the world burn, and Torchem is the guy to lead them to that ignoble end.

His Second in Command is responsible for designing and maintaining the arsenal of the C.R.O.O.D. Force, Jesse the Fixit Guy.
Image
He'll fix you good. Armed with toolbox and his trusty WrenchGun (actually a shotgun/wrench/drill combo) he can fix just about anything. Getting him motivated to do that, is another matter. Not to worry though, motivation is just a few beers away, and that toolbox certainly doesn't have any tools in it. Unless cans of beer are considered tools. Then it's full of tools.

The average trooper is equipped with protective body armour, and a standard issue combat rifle. These guys haven't earned the right to set things on fire yet.
Image

These guys, however, are living the dream. Each Heavy Blaze Trooper is equipped with a large Combustion Cannon, heavy protective armour, and a Dreadful deep desire to burn all the things
Image

The next up, are the coolest guys in the C.R.O.O.D. Force. The snipers. Everyone loves a guy with a big gun and a cool mustache. Well, these guys like to sit back and let their intensely long range weapons do the work for them. Also, they have cowboy hats.
Image

C.R.O.O.D. Force troopers love loud noise, fire, and fuel. What personifies those things more than combat motorcycles with flamethrower sidecars?
Image
The FlameCycles offer speed coupled with the wondrous capacity to launch gouts of chemical fueled mayhem at unsuspecting civilians. What more could you ask for? It also has a beer holder on the back of the seat that fits two of your favorite frosty beverages.

For missions on the go, the average C.R.O.O.D. Force solider would say you can't go wrong with a good ol' fashioned recon jeep. The Advanced Fire Spitter Recon Vehicle is quick and packs a punch. It is equipped with a super heavy duty flame thrower, a gatling machinegun system, and two forward facing, anti-infantry cannons.
Image

Another of the C.R.O.O.D. Force's favorite conveyances is the Heavy Hauler Half-Track Truck. Equipped with two large autocannons (sometimes bullets can be just as fun as fire, if there are enough of them), and a pair of anti-infantry flame throwers on the sides, this truck can carry troops to battle, and carry battle to the enemy.
Image

The most specialized vehicle in the C.R.O.O.D. Force arsenal is the Flame Wheelie. Don't let the silly name fool you, it's two tons of steel, gasoline and heat. Sporting the largest flame weapon in the army's arsenal, the drivers of these undergo vigorous training. And by training, I mean drinking. You'd have to be drunk to want to drive a flaming gas tank on wheels.
Image

What army would be complete without some form of legged war machine? Not this one, that's for damned sure. Topping the list for versatility, the SlaughterTek Armour is capable of limited flight/hovering, sports some advanced laser weaponry, and keen looking claw doodads to cut people up real good.
Image

I almost forgot the secret weapon! After years of searching, General Torchem found a kindred spirit who loves wanton destruction nearly as much as himself. Unfortunately he's a horrid monster figuratively and literally. Meet Rex, the Monstrous. His favorite things are killing people with his bare hands, killing people with his big gun, and killing people with his shoulder mounted rockets, conveniently placed atop his cyborg arm.
Image

So, that's one of my armies. I hopes ya likes em.
I don't have anything relevant to place here.

Pretty cool stuff. Rex's arm claw is a super neat design. He looks very brutal.

This army is awesome. Love the flamethrower theme and your presentation was top notch. Good work!

You did an outstanding job with creating your army. Both heroes and the Advanced Recon Vehicle are my favorite bits, but I also like, how well you integrated the Kashyyyk trooper torsos in your army's colour scheme.

I think I'm in love - full of style and great use of that swampy green!

Also it never dawned on me how utterly sick LOTR beards look for biker-types.

I love what you've done with those clone trooper torsos. The whole army looks badass and militaristic while still being over-the-top and silly. It's perfect.

This is a great first army to post. The whole feel of an army militaristic, pyromaniac bikers is :666: I hope to see them in action.

Thanks for the kind words everyones. I say the Kashyyyk troopers and thought, "How can I make this Brikwars?" I actually used them in their first battle yesterday. A three way 500pt battle, which they won on a technicality! The best kind of win, in my opinion. Though I was prepared to annihilate everything on the map (potentially including my own guys), we just didn't have the time.

Also, I feel ever so honored to have received a song about my general (who lived through the battle, btw) on my first post, haha!

This is all wonderfully kick-ass.

Although I'm a little disappointed that only one sniper actually has a mustache.

Great army with olive green color. The army needs an overview photo. ;)

Good call on the overview photo. I'll try and post one tonight or perchance tomorrow.
