I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that new molds for minifig accessories cost a lot less than new molds for construction elements, because the mold tolerances don't have to be as ridiculously precise? Otherwise there'd be no way the collectible minifigures line could ever exist.

So my girlfriend was peeking over my shoulder and now she's super excited that we're getting a Blucifer set.

Are those regular blue or bright blue? And can someone tell me why everything in the Ninjago sets is fucking gold?

These colour decisions are sometimes questionable but I'm loving the Orange Transparent Everything (OTE) in these Nexo Knights sets.

They're regular blue.
And in TLG's current color language gold=power, notice how most weapons and powerups are gold in most action themes.
Also holy shit nexo looks incredible, I'm real glad this theme's small-to-medium set gimmicks aren't tat but rather simply giving us more pieces.
