The Allied Nations is a useless and powerless international organization for galactic cooperation in the name of warfare. The General Assembly is the useless and powerless arm of the AN since it's the one organ that doesn't actually have any powers, so it mainly serves as a discussion forum that can occasionally vote on useless and powerless resolutions. Every nation in the BrikVerse has a right to speak at the AN General Assembly, meaning every nation has the option and can feel free to ignore it if they want. Speaking at or participating in the ANGA does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of the AN or what it stands for.
Basically this is the general discussion thread for in-universe BrikWars politics, and since a lot of people have complained about the proliferation and excess of BW politics in the forums, I guess it'd make them happier to contain it to one thread. Since the ANGA is the most encompassing international body, it makes sense as an in-universe abstraction of such a thing.
More background on the AN:
-There's an AN Security Council, a 15-nation council consisting of the five Veto Powers and ten other rotating countries. They have actual power to impose economic sanctions, send in peacekeepers, and deploy the feared and infamous AN PAX Corps. In practice the Veto Powers kill all the resolutions so this body actually ends up being harmless and powerless.
-There's an Allied Criminal Court, which can try criminals and anoraks who violate minifig rights or international law. Since the countries have to voluntarily give up their defendants to the ACC, however, almost nobody actually gets put on trial.
-There's an AN Minifig Rights Council.
-The current AN Secretary-General is Mobfather Scratch of the Police State of Venice, with his Under-Secretaries-General being Senator Rand Paul of the USA and Comrade JAM of the Army of JAM. The Secretariat is about as useless as the rest of the AN, but can issue statements on behalf of the ANSG, and gets a nice glass office building on planet New York.

I've changed the tone of the AN to be more inclusive and less oppressive on people's individual kanons now that the overpurge has given me a chance to remake this thread anew. If they want to ignore it, that's fine, but the flip side is that everyone has the option to participate in it. I've also sort of repurposed it as an in-universe abstraction of "general politics discussion".
