Immortal Empire: The Omega Legion

Meta:
So my basic thought design behind my immortals is going off of what I think they are: A mixture of the Roman Empire and Mongols, but in space. Thus, these guys are the Roman side of things: Just one of the numberless, faceless legions that fight the great battles of the Empire, while the black-suited, less cohesive forces other people make are special forces teams, raiding parties, or personal posses of the various immortals and Warhead shards throughout the galaxy.

Minifigs



A powerful Warhead Shard, the Omega Shard possesses the valor and sense of duty of his precursor. On the Emperor's own orders he leads the Omega Legion on a path of conquest.

To Immortal High Command, the Omega Shard is stubborn, uncouth, and arrogant to the point of recklessness. To the men who serve under him, he is a leader worth following.

The Omega Shard's highest lieutenants: The Immortal colossus Crixton Var is the closed fist of the Omega Shard, while The Huntress is his silent hand. Is the center is Legate Bram, the admiral of the Star Flayers, an immortal fleet detatchment under the Omega Shard.

Crixton Var:

They told the Colossus that strapping a mortar to his back was insane, but. . . well. . . uh. . .

The Huntress:

No target is too large when a chance at immortality is on the line.

Bram:

Veteran of star-shaking campaigns, Bram has been granted a greatly extended lifespan. True immortality has eluded him, but he doesn't mind. Victory is reward enough.

On the left are various crewmen of the Star Flayers, who may or may not be turned into combat units. On the right are Operants (pilots).

Some members of the faceless legions are more valuable than others.

Several specialists, from left to right: A Centurion (heavy weapons specialist), a Venator(assassin), and Optio (officer), a Pyroclast, and a Medicus.

Centurion:

Analysis indicates that the Centurion armor system was originally developed for hazardous environments. Analysis also indicates that gunfire can be considered a hazard.

Venator:

Experts in sabotage and subterfuge, Venators are sent after the most valuble enemy targets.

Optio:

An officer of sorts, an Optio leads by example.

Pyroclast:

The destruction of enemy fortifications is key to an Imperial victory.

Medicus:

You can die once we win.

A proper Phalanx wall can render small arms fire pointless.

"They're not breaking! Why aren't they breaking?"

Many Legionnaires are born and die without ever seeing a galaxy under total immortal rule. All they know is conquest.



Legionnaire shock troops are given heavy armor and thruster packs.

An Imperial defeat was quickly turned into an Assyrian rout with the help of some repurposed farming equipment.

Should an army of the Immortal Empire return victorious, it is often with far different equipment than what it departed with centuries ago.



The Harvester's main purpose is to shred through enemy fortifications and infantry formations.



Really, the flechette cannon is just an afterthought.



Fits one.

Stalker Spider Tank

The gold standard in infantry support, the Stalker can follow Legionnaires wherever the path is large enough, and widen it when it isn't.

The mobility of the stalker makes it a nightmare for enemy infantry.



Meta: I'm not huge on the knees, but they make it way more poseable than previous versions.



Meta: Other than the legs, there hasn't been any changes.

Punisher APC

The punisher is more or a mobile command station than true APC. In no way does that make it less dangerous.

Bow mounted flamethrowers to break enemy emplacements.



It speaks volumes of the Imperial Legions that the Punisher's flechette drivers are calibrated not to engage enemy tanks, but rather fleeing aircraft.

Also the hatch opens.



Two missile tubes are concealed in the sides of the vehicle.





The rear hatch opens up. Inside it can fit six legionnaires, a driver, and an officer.

Reaper Gunship

The awkward shape belies the grace with which the Reaper moves.

As with most immortal vehicles, intimidation eclipses practicality.





With only two missile tubes and a flechette cannon for weaponry it can be considered to be under-armed.



Rear thruster for flight.



While it only has two sets of weapons, multiple pilots mean it can always be firing something.

Mauler Interceptor

Stored in racks in the massive fortress-carriers, Maulers are deployed by the hundreds to overwhelm enemy defenses through sheer numbers.

Meta: I always have fun working the "spider eyes" sensor arrays into immortal vehicles. Shame about the Punisher.



The Mauler is armed with twin flechette cannons and a large railgun.



The cannons are articulated for strafing runs.



Hits like a brick, but it's much more nimble.



Large engine, many thrusters.



Seats one pilot.

Yeah, the immortal war has beef dead, or at least dormant, for a very long time. It's cool to look back at and stuff, but I think we should mostly move on. As Silent has demonstrated the Immortals are still around and kicking, but they aren't the focus of the brikverse any longer. Eventually when I get my shit together I'll actually act on these words instead of just talking, but I gotta get my 2 cents out there.

Also Silent, everything you make is absolutely fantastic, and the flavor of the Omega Legion is awesome.
