The South
The industrial South Esduin is vastly unlike the clean, marble streets of the North. Scattered across the southern half are various foundries and forges, where plentiful ores are gathered from the earth and smelted into various metals. These metals were forged primarily into weapons and machines of warfare, using their own modified blueprints of Gravelgrinder technologies.
With an impressive overall productivity rate, South Esduin is a leading supplier of arms and armor to many Medivo regions. Although most of what they actually trade to other parts of the world is basic equipment, as the technicians and other higher-ups of Esduin covet their technology and keep it among their own ranks.
The Scout Balloon. This experimental light “aircraft” as Esduin mechanix have called it, is truly the first of its kind. While the North’s focus is on naval warfare and the like, the South is trying to be more creative and aiming literally toward the sky. Together, with the control over sky and sea, the United Empires are frighteningly almost unstoppable.
This amazing technological advancement is powered by a furnace which generates heat, keeping the balloon afloat. The balloon can comfortably fit three minifigs, one pilot and two gunners.
Iron Knights. The main infantry of the South, these knights are expandable as they are numerous.
Though similar to the North's infantry, they are nowhere as shiny-looking.
Officers all have different plumes simply because none of them could decide which ones were better.
Esduin Marines. Bows are a thing of the past, at least to the South. Marines are among many of the southerners who have embraced the convenience and easy-use of gunpowder, which have replaced most forms of archery.
Light Kavalry. While not as flashy or nearly as heavily armored as The North’s Stormriders, the light cavalry favors ranged combat from atop their steads and are generally faster and more maneuverable. Their mechanical crossbows are much easier to aim and fire while on the back of a horse than a musket or pistol.
Guardians. Heavily armored, guardians are used in almost exclusively defensive situations, and can hold their own against infantry and cavalry alike.
Artillerymen. These minifigs are part of the esteemed artillery division of South Esduin, being in charge of the use and repair of their heavier and more complex weaponry.
The Infantry Kannon. Simple and mass-produced, infantry kannons can obliterate entire frontlines with enough focused fire.
While North Esduin prefers magic weaponry, the South prides itself in having one of the largest artillery divisions on their side of Medivo.
"FIIIRRREEEEEEE!!"
The Heroes of South Esduin are many, but here are some of the more notable ones:
Gregori, Holy Southern Knight (Left). Gregori is a priest-knight of sorts, always quoting lines from religious documents worshipping the Great Creator and their fellows. He is deathly loyal to South Esduin, and will fight to the bloody end for his King and faith.
Kaptain Keora (Right). As quick-witted as she is quick with her blade, Kiora has the hearts and respect of all her underlings. She often pokes fun at Gregori despite the knight being of greater rank, but she holds the utmost respect for her King Lucas.
King Lucas (Middle). Ruler over the South and little brother to Queen Asmelda of the North, Lucas holds a burning ambition, an ambition which had led him and his kingdom to become as great as it is today. He is almost competitive with North Esduin’s rate of military and economic growth, although he knows his place is beside his sister as one nation. Despite this, King Lucas is almost obsessed with the progress of ‘his own people’.
