Experiment 24 Log

Today was the day we had been anticipating, the day we commenced our most daring experiment yet. It took us years to prepare for this, we had to clear shipping, trade, transportation, everything. And we had to do it all without alerting the public of our plan. They wouldn't understand, they would panic and evacuate, or protest and become militant about their position in the matter. But they wouldn't understand that it's for their own good.

Ever since the Bureau of Human Survival Research and Experimentation was formed, we've had a goal. We wanted to observe how people would survive in a variety of scenarios.

We started out small, with the Halifax Harbour explosion of 1917, and worked our way up from there. We spread our experiments out so as not to attract too much suspicion.

We continued to experiment with different scenarios, from the aforementioned accidental disaster, to the terrorist attack of 9/11, seeing how people would react do not only the result, but the causes of it.

We also experimented with government disasters, observing how people would reestablish the government after the JFK assassination.

Experiments on religion have been going on almost since the founding of the Bureau, our first successful attempt being the creation of the second Ku Klux Klan in 1915. These experiments are typically smaller than the other types, as religion is one of the less significant factors of survival.

Our latest experiment is the biggest one we've done to date. Military forces were gathered from countries (I am not at liberty to disclose their names), and sent into the islands of Shetland, off the north coast of the United Kingdom. It was a full-out blitzkrieg, and every island was hit. Every corner of the land was reached, making sure to hit everything.

We are conducting this experiment to observe how humans would survive should there be an apocalypse, World War III, or any similar event.

We have placed armed patrols on the nearest coasts, making sure they don't escape. Yes, it would help them survive, but we aren't ready for that large of a scale yet. Our next experiment will encompass more land, and will probably involve the use of nuclear weapons.

We will make progress checks every so often, but we will not start logging them until exactly six months from now.

Hopefully we will be able to get helpful results, so that we can educate the world in the art of survival.

Until next time,
Agent Wagner

Today we made our first official progress check, and we were quite surprised at the amount of progress the citizens have made.

We noticed that most of their time is spent on land, but they sometimes travel by water, whether it is to get food, get to another settlement, or just to map out territory.

We managed to take pictures of one water vessel with our robotic bird camera, one of our many innovations.

These particular survivors have constructed a raft out of scavenged barrels and wood.

A photo of the bottom of the raft, taken by our robotic fish camera.

A view of the rear, showing an intelligently installed ladder in case someone is knocked overboard.

A close-up of the rowers, showing the rough shape they are in.

At one point the survivors went on the alert, and demonstrated the clever inclusion of holders for the oars and weapons.

Image

They were ambushed by some hostiles at a narrow part of a river, and had to resort to using their oars as weapons. This, along with the flag waving on the raft, has led us to believe that there are actually rivaling groups of survivors. Strange... we had expected them to help each other, not turn against one another.

Image

We managed to get better picture of all three survivors when they landed for the night.

This opened the opportunity for pictures of the raft when unmanned.

A close-up shot of the machine gun mounted on the front was also taken. We don't know where they managed to get these weapons, but we assume they raided an abandoned gun shop or something similar.

More progress checks will be made, as we hope to find out as much as possible.

Until next time,
Agent Wagner

Very cool. I always love a good conspiracy theory.
