The Council of 500 was founded as an offshoot of the Grand Galactic Empire following the Barnacle Wars. 500 systems, comprising the industrial core of the Grand Galactic Empire, ceded from the Empire to form an independent republic. The manufacturing strength of the region was set to rapidly mobilizing an army and navy (colloquially called the Cavalry) that would be capable of defending the Council from the Empire and extragalactic threats like Barnacles and Blacktron.

Ground Forces

Troop	Description
	The basic infantry of the C500 is made up of lightly-equipped conscripts.
	Rocketeers are highly mobile troops, armed with light weapons and a grenade launcher.
	The Line Infantry forms the core of the C500 army. Each troop is an independent unit capable of operating in an active combat zone alone or in a squadron.
	Heavies are armed with plasma rifles designed to burn through Barnacle armor.
	Beastmasters manage the biomechanical warmachines of the C500.
	BURN ALL BARNACLES
	The infiltrator is a stealthy assassin armed with a laser sword and mastery of the farce.
	Commandos
	The Counciliar Guard protects government officials and presides over official functions.
	Field mechaniks provide critical support for ground troops, erecting field fortifications and ad hoc weaponry. They are experts at repurposing Barnacle technology in a pinch.
	Sappers sabotage enemy fortifications and weaponry.
	Drones provide additional support for ground troops.
	The Fast Attack Tank is a heavy weapons platform geared toward mowing down infantry.

	The Torpedo Boat is used primarily in an anti-fighter role, escorting larger ships. It is also armed with larger torpedoes to sink heavier enemy ships.
	The Combat Freighter is used in a variety of roles, including troop and cargo transport, fleet escort, and reconnaissance
	The Sky Shark corvette punches up in fleet engagements, creating an anti-fighter screen with its gimballed laser cannons and destroying enemy capital ships with heavy torpedoes.
