Mir is a planet within a pocket dimension in the Gold Sector. It alongside it's Star, Monolit emerged in the sector after the eponymous "Monolith Event" which in R2018 wiped the entire region clean of all other stars, planets, celestial bodies, and in turn, all other life. While the planet and it's star exist in the sector, their physical location is unknown. Strange and powerful forces have successfuly kept the planet hidden from outside interference. And all travel to and from the planet is managed by a network of proxy portals.

While Mir's existence appears to be of artificial or intelligent design, the planet itself is plagued by a massive ecological disaster in the form of radioactive energy crystal infestations, not to mention the damage done by it's inhabitants through the course of several surface conflicts.

Timeline

Political: Mir
MirmapBIG.png
Black areas: Unclaimed "Wild" Territory. Green Dots: Critical Ichor Infestation, Lined areas: Military Occupation
For the purposes of both storytelling and worldbuilding. Only the Continent of Slavonica and a small part of Xindra are ever represented or considered in the world of Mir. The others are Simply represent other unimportant regions of the realm.
  • Serican Isles (Pronounciation: Sare-Ikan) are a pair of Islands roughly in the center of the realm. They are the ancient homeland of the Serican Empire, a precursor civilization that once ruled the entirety of the realm. Since their fall and exodus, the Serican Isles themselves have been left uninhabitable. Their previous occupants left behind an army of "bioweapons" to butcher and eat any would be looters of their sacred home. Since then various military groups have essentially glassed the isles to kill off the monsters there. Unfortunately destroying everything else in the process.
  • Slavonika (Pronounciation: Slah-vonn-ika) Also referred to as the Mainland, is the largest, and oldest of the realm's Lands. Roughly a third of it's landmass is greenland. while the other two thirds are wasteland of one form or another. The continent is unique in that it is the only one infested with Ichor crystals. Due to the turbulent history of the continent, a considerable portion of it's landmass is considered to be "Wild Territory". Undeveloped and Uninhabited by no more than small groups of scavengers. It is home to Minifigs, Canids, Avians, Gators, Hives and a tiny population of Serican remnants.
  • Xindra (Pronounciation: Zin-dra) is the second largest of the realm's lands. Almost the entire continent is desert and wasteland, Living things can only scratch out an existence around the coasts. While not touched by Ichor crystal infestation, the continent is still largely inhospitable and uninhabitable. It's population consists of Xind, Kar'shan and Plasmen
  • Kryena (Pronounciation: Kry-eena) Is a smaller , habitable continent populated by dozens of different minifig nations. Most have banded together into one of two regional powers. The civilizations of this region largely keep to themselves and rarely venture outward.
  • Nordica (Pronounciation: Nordica) Is another smaller, habitable continent that was populated by colonists from Kryena, It is largely peaceful with no war since it's initial colonial period.

Minifig Civilization

The continents and isolated plate worlds of Mir are home to hundreds of thousands of minifigs and individuals of other races. While information is only available for the Realm's largest continent, Serica. It is known that some populations exist all over the realm in areas that are yet uncontacted.

Most of the population lives in the central "green" regions of Serica, safe from ecological disaster although smaller communities and settlements exist scattered across the wastes and wild territories. While Minifigs make up the majority of the population, there are known to be more than a dozen races on Serica alone, including some who have Migrated from Xindra and other continents.

The Gifted Nobility

During the rule of the Sericans, their Empire was a feudal hierarchy of aristocrats who possessed rare and extremely powerful psychic abilities. These abilities were referred to as "The Gift" and could only be passed on hereditarily, or by a special bestowment ceremony usually given to special servants as a reward. These Psychic, or Psionik Abilities are considered to be a similar but seperate form of Magik, and include a wide range of powers that can influence other beings' minds.

The Sericans used their powers to play themselves as dieties to the ignorant commoners, who followed and worshipped them as gods. Eventually the Gift had been given to too many individuals. Even when the Serican Empire fell, the Psionik Gift was still scattered among the population. And eras later, a number of societies and civilizations still have some form of Gifted Nobility. The Serican Empire may have collapsed, and the secrets of their Tek may be lost, but the power they used to abuse and oppress others still lives on.

Governments and Alliances

While the Slavonik Imperiya is considered to be the central, most powerful, and therefor most influential government of the realm. Mir itself is torn between several ideologies and alliances. Each Government or ruling party only has Authority in the regions which they directly control.

Group Notes Members Currency
Ntg.png Imperial Sphere Less of a formal alliance, and more of a network of Feudal entities under the control of the Slavonik Crown authority, consisting of the Imperiya's core territories, and a number of frontier zones and lesser baronies in it's outskirt zones. The latter of which are known to feud and fight amongst one another calling into question the overall stability of the Tsar's control over his empire. rebuild it from it's various disasters and troubles. Although their support is not without a cost. With their resources and other assistance, comes their ideas. Parts of Mir are effectively being
converted to ideologies of the visitors. And small areas are even being colonized. The Alliance partnered and eventually invited the Ordo Omega into their fold, bolstering their Pro-Magik
ideology and creating a legitimate contender in the balance of power

Empires or Factions marked with a * have only small cameo sized physical armies. And only exist as a means of worldbuilding

Resources & Economy

Much of the realm now lies in ruins, a shadow of it's former self, however bleak the denizens of the realm are still able to make use of advanced tek from ancient elder civilizations that came before. A few key resources and devices have led to the particular way of life in the Realm, which as created it's own ways of warfare, industry, and trade

Nanoforges

Elder Nanoforges are complex machines created by ancient civilization that essentially act as advanced 3D Printers. Powered by Neon and fueled by Tibinium and Vortek crystals, Nanoforges are used to process a set of instructions transmitted wirelessly from faraway servers housing the schematics to produce practically anything an engineer or builder would need, Standard briks, and even weapons can be produced with forges. However additional materials may be required depending on the project, like Mantle or Beryl

Nanoforges can be scaled up or down, it's not uncommon to see small commercial level forges used in small stores. While the tek is highly proliferated, the schematics for products are jealously guarded by corporations, militaries, and private owners. Anyone who owns a schematic will often charge others to download them, either as a one time, or per use basis. This business model makes up a large portion of the Economy and Industry of the realm. The industrial scale forges are in limited supply, less than 2000 still exist in the realm. The knowledge on how to build and repair them has been lost with the departure of the Elders in R2020. Meaning Governments and Corporations that control them have even more influence over the economy of Mir.

Meta

In terms of Worldbuilding, Mir takes a number of Video Games as its source of inspiration, in no particular order it includes Space Station 13, The Elder Scrolls, Planetside, Fallout, Command and Conquer, and STALKER
